"The Apprentice"
With the Swedish fantasy "Border" and the Persian-language thriller "Holy Spider", Ali Abbasi made waves at Cannes in 2018 and 2022, respectively. This time, he returns to the festival with a much more conventional, but no less exciting, story about Donald Trump's rise in the 1970s and 1980s in New York, with Sebastian Stan donning prosthetics and a blonde wig to play a younger version of the former president, meanwhile, Ivana Trump is played Maria Bakalova, and "Succession's" Jeremy Strong plays Roy Cohn, the prosecutor, and fixer who served as Trump's mentor.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Megalopolis"
Easily the most talked-about Palme d'Or contender of the festival, Francis Ford Coppola's first big-screen release since 2011 is a passion project that took more than two decades to complete. "Megalopolis" has a star-studded cast that includes Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Chloe Fineman, and Nathalie Emmanuel. Though early reactions from viewers have ranged from shock and confusion to praise, everyone agrees that the 135-minute epic is a bold piece of work&mdash;which is telling because it hasn't yet landed a distribution deal.
"Emilia Perez"
This musical is directed by Palme d'Or winner and renowned director Jacques Audiard, and stars Selena Gomez, Zoe Salda&ntilde;a, &Eacute;dgar Ram&iacute;rez, and Karla Sof&iacute;a Gasc&oacute;n. "Emilia Perez" follows a lawyer who gets an unexpected request to help a powerful Mexican cartel boss who wants to retire.&nbsp;
"Kinds of Kindness"
Yorgos Lanthimos's follow-up to his Oscar-winning film "Poor Things", "Kind of Kindness" will premiere in this year's Cannes Film Festival. The movie is a three-part science fiction anthology, and it marks another collaboration between&nbsp;Lanthimos and the two-time Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone, alongside Hunter Schafer, Joe Alwyn, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons, and Mamoudou Athie.&nbsp;

"The Village Next to&nbsp;Paradise"
"The Village Next to&nbsp;Paradise" takes place in a distant Somali community, and follows a recently formed family as they balance their various goals with the complicated outside world and the only things that will get them through their life courses are love, trust, and fortitude.
The movie is directed by&nbsp;Somali director,&nbsp;Mo Harawe, and it's worth mentioning that the movie was shot by Egyptian DOP&nbsp;Mostafa El Kashef.&nbsp;
