From a chance meeting in Dahab, a seaside town on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba, during the pandemic to international electronic music stages, Egyptian-Canadian duo Husa &amp; Zeyada have developed a sound that blends deep house, indie rock and atmospheric synths with Arabic and English lyrics.
For the duo, Dahab became more than just a location; it became part of their creative identity.
During their appearance on "Let's Dance" with Nancy on NileFM, Husa &amp; Zeyada reflected on how they met, how Dahab shaped their creative process, the story behind their electronic reimagining of the late Hany Shenouda's "Hezeny", and their plans for new music and their independent label, Sound School.
A Chance Meeting That Changed Everything
For Husa &amp; Zeyada, the pandemic became the turning point that brought them together.
"We like to believe that somehow we would have found our way to each other," Zeyada said. "But no, not in its current form. We like to believe that things work out because it's fate. We met in Dahab, and that influenced the music that we make."
At the time, Husa had moved to Dahab during the pandemic, while Zeyada had arrived for what was meant to be a short holiday. Through their mutual friend and producer Hot Oasis (Mostafa), they met during one of his final jam sessions before he moved to the UK.
"We just didn't know we were going to be a duo yet," Zeyada recalled. "We met and wanted to get in the studio together."
That first session quickly led to another.
"Two or three days later, we got in the studio, and then we were like, 'Okay, again tomorrow.' And then we never stopped. It just kept happening."
How Dahab Shaped Their Sound
Dahab, a coastal town on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, became more than a location for the duo. It became part of their creative identity.
"Making music reflects you. You reflect your environment when you're making music," Husa explained. "Being in the mountains, with the simplicity and away from city life, definitely reflects in the music."
For Zeyada, who previously studied in New York after growing up in Cairo, living closer to nature changed the way she approached creativity.
"I always thought I'm a city girl. I love the mess of the city. I thrive under chaos," she said. "But I did well, not as well as I did in nature. When I was actually relaxed and surrounded by inspiration, we were a lot more productive when we gave ourselves space, time and nature. It definitely changed everything about the way we make music and our sound."
Husa added that Dahab's international community also influenced their work.
"It's a big part of the place. It has a real native culture and a community with people from different parts of the world."
Blending Two Musical Worlds
Although Zeyada came from an indie rock background and Husa built his career in electronic house music, they never saw their different influences as a challenge.
Instead, they used those contrasts to shape their sound, focusing first on rhythm and feeling.
"We were obsessing over groove," Zeyada explained, describing how a simple musical idea can become the foundation for an entire track.
Their creative process has also evolved. While they initially developed ideas separately, they now work together in their home studio, constantly refining songs until they both feel satisfied.
Why Their First Album Came Together Quickly
While many artists spend years developing their debut albums, Husa &amp; Zeyada completed theirs in just one month.
For Husa, the reason was simplicity.
"The more you know, the more complicated it gets," he said. "We made that first album right after we met each other. Everything was simple. We didn't know enough, so there weren't all these calculations."
As they have grown as artists, they have learned to accept that each song has its own timeline.
"There are albums that took much longer," Zeyada said. "Some songs are finished very quickly, while others take years. We're starting to accept that as part of the process."
Rather than forcing creativity, the duo moves between projects and returns to unfinished songs when the time feels right.
Reimagining Hany Shenouda's "Hezeny"
One of their recent projects is their electronic interpretation of "Hezeny", the classic song originally performed by Al Massrieen and composed by Egyptian musician Hany Shenouda.
While the remix introduces the track to a new audience, it also became one of the duo's most meaningful projects.
"A lot of people recognise the original, which is a brilliant track," Zeyada said. "We actually had the song for almost two years and worked with Hany Shenouda on a new version."
She revealed that Shenouda personally listened to their remix and supported the project.
"He heard it, liked our edit, and wanted to re-release an album with re-edits while keeping the original lyrics. We went back into the studio, re-recorded everything together, and had his approval. That was really a blessing. This project is very close to our hearts."
For Husa &amp; Zeyada, the remix was not simply about updating a classic. It was about celebrating Shenouda's contribution to Egyptian music while introducing his work to a new generation of listeners.
Why Fans Hear New Music Before Release
For the duo, the creative process continues beyond the studio. Many of their songs are tested live before they officially arrive on streaming platforms.
"One cool part about us is that you can always hear unreleased stuff in our live shows," Zeyada said. "We're always finishing new music, so we play it live first."
Performing unfinished material allows them to continue developing songs while sharing that process with their audience.
"We're working on things while we're performing them. They're not even fully finished. We'll go back to the studio and add things or change things."
The approach means every performance can offer something different while giving fans an early glimpse of future releases.
Building More Than a Label
To support their growing catalogue, Husa &amp; Zeyada launched their independent label, Sound School.
Rather than simply releasing music, they see it as a creative platform connecting musicians, visual artists and filmmakers.
"It's more than just a label," they explained. "It's a whole world we're trying to build through audio, visuals and a network of artists working together."
For Husa, creating the label solved a practical challenge.
"We had all this music waiting to be released. Now we have an outlet where projects can continue to grow instead of disappearing after release."
Zeyada said the label also gives them freedom to think beyond short-term success.
"A lot of the time with labels, they're looking at a song as profit now, hype and charts," she said. "I don't want my music to be considered only in that sense. Every song has a story. I don't want it to be consumed now, hit the charts and then disappear a few months later."
Instead, they want each release to remain part of a wider creative world.
New Music on the Way
Husa &amp; Zeyada are preparing several new projects, each exploring a different side of their sound.
They hope to release three albums before the end of the year, including dance and disco-inspired music, an indie-focused record and a rave-oriented project.
Zeyada is also working on a solo Arabic shoegaze project, with Husa helping develop the music.
During their NileFM appearance, the duo premiered an unreleased track titled "Kings Don't Fall".
"It's our most recently finished work," they said. "The album has more punk rock elements with some disco influences. It should start releasing in the fall and be complete by winter."
Their latest project, "To Belong", represents another stage in their evolving musical journey.
Creating Together as Partners
Being creative partners and husband and wife means music is part of almost every aspect of their lives.
"From the beginning, everything was very intertwined," Zeyada said. "Once we got past the question of whether we should mix work and life, it changed everything in great ways."
Working together has also taught them the importance of communication.
"If there's an issue, whether it's personal or music related, we have to deal with it," she explained. "If we don't fix it, everything is on pause."
Rather than separating their personal and professional lives, they have learned to allow each side to strengthen the other.
Taking Their Music Around the World
Although Husa &amp; Zeyada have performed internationally for years, one show remains particularly significant.
They recalled performing alongside renowned DJ Hern&aacute;n Catt&aacute;neo at Sunsetstrip Buenos Aires in 2023, where they played in front of one of the largest crowds of their career.
"That was the moment we looked at each other and thought, 'I think we're making it,'" they said.
The duo are now preparing for further international performances across Germany, Spain, Canada, Mexico and India before returning to Cairo this winter.
Alongside their releases, they hope to continue expanding Sound School as a creative ecosystem for artists.
"We're trying to solidify this ecosystem of artists. People that want to get together for creation."

Nevine Salah Eldin turned decades of international travel into inspiration for a handcrafted Egyptian chocolate brand, leaving behind a 30-year career in the travel and aviation industry to pursue a new passion.
Speaking on &ldquo;The Big Drive&rdquo; with Zeinab and Sami as part of the Made in Egypt segment, Nevine shared how she launched &lsquo;Chocolati&egrave;re Delights&rsquo;, a local business focused on premium handmade chocolates.
NileFM explored the story behind the Egyptian brand, which aims to compete with some of the world&rsquo;s finest chocolates while showcasing local creativity and flavours.
Inspired by Swiss Chocolate
During her years in aviation, Nevine frequently travelled to Switzerland, where she developed a strong appreciation for its world-famous chocolate industry.
&ldquo;I used to travel to Switzerland all the time and inspired by Swiss handmade chocolate, I always asked myself, &lsquo;Why don&rsquo;t we have a similar project in Egypt?&rsquo;&rdquo; she said.
In 2025, she decided to step away from her career and explore a completely new path.
&ldquo;I did not know exactly what I wanted to do. My friends always told me I was a good cook, and one day I came across a video of a Russian chocolatier on social media. That was when I decided to learn chocolate-making from scratch.&rdquo;
Although she initially expected the process to be simple, she quickly discovered the challenges involved.
&ldquo;At first, I thought it would be easy, but it is actually very difficult. People try my chocolate and often cannot believe it is handmade in Egypt.&rdquo;
Building an Egyptian Brand
Nevine says the biggest lesson she learned from international companies was the importance of quality.
&ldquo;The most important thing is to provide the best quality possible. Quality allows you to compete with anyone. But it is not enough; you have to continue improving and developing your products.&rdquo;
She believes Egypt has the talent and resources needed to compete in international markets.
&ldquo;We have quality materials and incredibly creative people, so why should we not compete with global brands?&rdquo;
Never Giving Up
Like many entrepreneurs, Nevine faced moments when she considered abandoning her project.
&ldquo;Whenever I had to travel, I did not like producing chocolate and leaving it in storage. Every occasion made me think about quitting.&rdquo;
However, her ambition kept bringing her back.
&ldquo;The next day, I would tell myself, &lsquo;No, this is my dream.&rsquo; I wanted to create an Egyptian product that could compete with Belgian and Swiss chocolate, and I refused to fail.&rdquo;
Today, her products are made entirely with premium ingredients, and she continues to look for ways to make the brand stand out.
In September 2026, she plans to launch a new collection inspired entirely by Egyptian flavours.
Quality Beyond the Price Tag
For Nevine, premium quality is not simply about choosing the most expensive ingredients.
&ldquo;Premium does not always mean using the most expensive brands. Sometimes the best ingredient is not the priciest one.&rdquo;
She added that many customers now prefer her Egyptian creations over imported chocolates.
The Power of Social Media
Social media played an important role in helping Nevine launch and grow her business.
&ldquo;First of all, I got the idea from social media. It is also one of the best ways to reach customers.&rdquo;
Her first customers were friends, but recommendations quickly helped the brand expand.
&ldquo;Many of the people who ordered from me did not even know it was my own brand at first. Over time, many customers became friends.&rdquo;
Celebrating Egyptian Identity
One of the most distinctive elements of &lsquo;Chocolati&egrave;re Delights&rsquo; is its Egyptian-inspired chocolate designs.
&ldquo;I wanted something that represents our Egyptian identity.&rdquo;
The idea began when a friend asked her to create a special Egyptian gift for a Chinese client. Nevine started developing Pharaonic-inspired chocolate moulds, although finding suitable designs was not always easy.
The collection gained wider attention following the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, later attracting interest from customers abroad, including in Poland.
What&rsquo;s Next?
Nevine is preparing to launch a new range of 100% Egyptian-inspired chocolate products in September 2026, continuing her mission of showcasing local flavours through handmade chocolate.
Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Nevine ended the interview with a message for those considering starting their own businesses:
&ldquo;Do not wait for the perfect time because it never comes. It is never too late to start. I began a completely new career in my early fifties, and that is proof that dreams have no age limit.&rdquo;

Throughout her career, Reem has appeared in several notable productions, including "Valentino" alongside Adel Emam, "Abu Al-Aroussa 2," "Sayd El Akarib," and the comedy film "Al Safa Thanaweya Banat."
NileFM spoke with Reem Elmasry about preparing for one of her most emotionally demanding roles, the challenges of bringing Nahed to life, and the audience response that touched her the most.
What made you fall in love with acting and decide to pursue it as a career?
I've loved acting since I was very young. I used to perform in theatre productions at cultural centres and arts institutions, so that passion was planted in me from childhood. My mother played a huge role in that because she loved theatre, and I grew up sharing the same passion for acting.

You started your career in theatre. What's the most important lesson you learned from that experience?
Theatre has taught me so much, both artistically and personally, and I'm still learning every day. I think one of the greatest lessons theatre gives any actor is how to overcome stage fright and truly connect with a live audience. That's something incredibly valuable for every performer.
What do you consider the turning point in your acting career?
Honestly, every project I work on changes me in some way or helps me take another step forward. But "Underage" was definitely a life-changing experience. It made a huge difference, both in how audiences saw me and in how I understood and appreciated acting. Thankfully, the series was very well received.

You've worked in theatre, film and television. Which medium best represents you as an actress?
Every medium has its own unique joy. Whether it's theatre, cinema or television, as long as I'm acting, I'm expressing who I am as both an actress and a person. Even if I'm acting in front of the mirror in my room, I'm still doing what I love.
Nahed in Underage is a very layered character. How did you prepare for the role?
It all started with many discussions with director Yahya Ismail and the series' writers, Mina Bebawi and Mohamed Elsoury. I kept asking about Nahed's background, motivations, circumstances and what her life was like before the events of the series. Together, we established clear boundaries for her personality and explored every aspect of her life so I could help audiences understand that although she is still very young, she is carrying burdens that belong to someone much older.
Did you consult any specialists or references while preparing for the role?
No. I relied on the vision of the director, the writers and my own personal interpretation of the character.
How did you portray the contrast between Nahed's personality at home and at school?
First of all, it was God's blessing, along with a great deal of preparation and discussion. I've seen real-life examples of young girls carrying responsibilities far beyond their age, regardless of their circumstances. I also wanted Nahed to behave differently with each character in the series because she is someone constantly trying to fit in and adapt to the world around her. That can sometimes make her appear as if she is changing her personality or being misunderstood.

Which scene was the most difficult for you to film, and why?
Probably the scene where Nody's husband beats Nahed and throws her out of the house. It was emotionally very difficult.
What was it like working with the "Underage" cast and crew?
It was honestly one of the happiest and most enjoyable experiences I've ever had. The atmosphere was filled with love, support and so many wonderful memories.
Did playing Nahed stay with you after filming ended?
Absolutely. She affected me deeply. I loved her, sympathised with everything she went through and felt that she became a part of me.
Among the girls in the series, which character is closest to you in real life, and why?
Honestly, I love them all. They're all close to my heart. They are some of the sweetest and most talented girls I've ever met, and I wish them nothing but the very best.

What audience reaction touched you the most after Underage aired?
I'm grateful for every reaction and every message I received. But what moved me the most was hearing from parents who said the series made them genuinely worry about their children and rethink how they understand and communicate with them. Knowing that the series was able to make even a small difference in the way parents see and treat their children made me incredibly happy.

If Underage returns for another season, what issue would you like it to explore?
I'd love for it to continue addressing meaningful human stories that truly connect with this generation and reflect what they are experiencing in their lives.

Acting is about more than stepping into different characters. It is about discovering new places, embracing different cultures and connecting with people through storytelling. For Austrian actress Valerie Pachner, that journey began in a small village in Austria and eventually led her to some of the world's biggest film productions.
Known for her emotionally powerful performances in A Hidden Life, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore and the Austrian drama Four Minus Three, Pachner now stars in Stories alongside British-Egyptian actor Amir El-Masry and Egyptian actress Nelly Karim. The romantic drama follows two people from different worlds whose lives become intertwined through handwritten letters, exploring how love can transcend borders. The film also has a personal connection for Pachner, who says she fell in love with Egypt long before joining the project.

You've built a career across European and international cinema. What first inspired you to become an actress?
I grew up in a small village in the countryside of Austria and, honestly, initially my desire to pursue acting merely came from wanting to escape the narrowness of my village, wanting to meet new people, experience new things and see a different world. Acting offered that to me through workshops in bigger cities, but also through the experience of acting itself. It was a very honest, truthful way to meet people, very deep and personal. At 16, I found that more interesting and exciting than casually hanging out or partying.

What was it about the script for Stories that made you want to be part of the film?
I found the way these two characters fall in love deeply romantic. Through letters! There is something so intimate about sending and receiving a letter, even if it comes from a completely different world. I love how it is slow-paced yet quite intense. I was also very intrigued by the fact that these two overcome the obstacles of coming from two different worlds and how love can cross national borders with ease and certainty. Love doesn't care about borders.
What drew you to your character, and what did you connect with most?
I loved her openness and her adventurous spirit. That was something I could certainly connect with. As an adolescent, after school, I went to Honduras for a year. The occasional acting workshops in the nearest bigger city were not enough. I wanted to go far away, explore the world, travel and meet new cultures. During that time, I also travelled to Egypt and completely fell in love with the culture. This is where Liz and I share a passion: travelling and fully immersing yourself in a new world, whether it is a new country or a new character for a project.

Can you share a memorable behind-the-scenes moment from Stories that audiences might not know about?
When we shot the scene at Vienna's Strudlhofstiege, a famous landmark in the city, Liz and Ahmed (Amir El-Masry) had their picture taken by an older couple passing by. That couple are the real Elisabeth and Ahmed, Abu's parents. That was such a special moment to shoot for all of us.
Another memorable moment came during the wedding scene. My Austrian colleagues and I really did not know what was going to happen. Director Abu Bakr Shawky told our Egyptian colleagues what to do and explained the different wedding rituals, while we were completely clueless, so our surprise, confusion and delight were very real.
What was the biggest challenge in bringing your character to life?
Maybe her unbroken optimism. I find myself more sceptical and realistic, so I struggled a bit at first with how she could be so wildly positive. But over time, this positivity kind of spread into my own being, and that was a very lovely experience.

Your performances often convey so much through silence and subtle expression. How do you approach that as an actor?
I think, for me, dialogue is really the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more going on for a character, a human being, and I start to build that very thoroughly through preparation. I think about how that person holds herself, how she feels in her body, how she moves through a room and what she thinks about first when she wakes up. This allows me to fully immerse myself in the world that is offered on set, and silent moments are not scary but become an even greater place of safety for me, where I can allow the character to just breathe.
You've worked in Austrian, German, British and Hollywood productions. How do those experiences differ, and what has each taught you?
In general, acting is acting and, at its core, there are always very similar experiences on set. The biggest difference is probably on the financial side: how much time there is to shoot and whether it is more like a sprint for arthouse films or a marathon for big studio productions.
You've received several major awards during your career. Have they influenced the roles you choose, or simply reinforced the stories you want to tell?
I never work for awards or festival success. When I am on a project, what matters most to me is the story, what we want to tell, not how we tell it. Even less important is whether people will love it, whether it will go to a festival or whether I will receive an award for it. There is nothing wrong with thinking like that, but I personally don't enjoy approaching my work from that perspective. It is more important to me that I find what is being told important.

What can audiences expect from your upcoming projects?
Currently, I have two films in cinemas: Stories and the Austrian film Four Minus Three, a very emotional story about a woman, and a clown, who loses her family in a car accident. My latest film, I Is Another, with Claes Bang, will have its premiere in the Piazza Grande section at the Locarno Film Festival in August, which I am very excited about.

Looking back on your career, what's the best advice you've ever received?
Do what you feel is right. If that means saying no to a project because you don't feel it or because you need a break, even if it is a great opportunity, then that is right, and you can trust that feeling.

A few weeks after its highly anticipated release, &ldquo;Underage&rdquo; has sparked conversations by addressing a range of issues affecting Generation Z. At the centre of the series is Egyptian director Yahya Ismail, who continues to attract attention with each new project. It is not his first time exploring the lives and challenges of young people, having previously examined similar themes in "Athena."
Following the success of &ldquo;Tawabea&rdquo; during the Ramadan 2026 season, Ismail returned with "Underage," a coming-of-age drama exploring the realities, pressures and challenges facing today&rsquo;s youth. Drawing not only on his experience as a director but also as a father, he brings an authentic perspective to the generation at the heart of the story.

In an exclusive interview with NileFM, Yahya Ismail takes us behind the scenes of "Underage," discusses the research that shaped the series, explains his approach to casting its young stars, and reflects on the realities facing Generation Z. He also addresses the question many fans have been asking: could the hit series &ldquo;Revo&rdquo; return for a third season?
The series &ldquo;Underage&rdquo; tackles several issues affecting young people. What was the main issue you wanted to highlight, and why?
For me, a series is never really about one specific issue. It is about the story. I do not like it when a series is built around a particular social issue. There may be an issue in the background, but ultimately people connect with the story, not the issue itself.
&ldquo;Underage&rdquo; is driven by its narrative. Through that story, the writers; Mohamed Elsoury, Mina Bebawi and Amin Gamal, wanted to bring together many of the situations we hear about involving teenagers, including jealousy, conflicts between girls, teenage pregnancy, differences in social classes and cultures, and the tradition in some rural communities where a young girl marries an older man who takes her to Cairo, promises her a better life and financially supports her family.
These are all separate stories we have heard or read about. The writers wanted to bring them together within one narrative, alongside the story of a girl whose father dies, causing her family&rsquo;s financial situation to deteriorate and forcing her to move to a different school. All these elements were combined into one story.

The series features a large cast of young actors. How did you approach the casting process and match each actor to the right character?
I always cast actors through auditions. Everyone performs two or three scenes so I can understand how they interpret the character.
There were actors I had worked with before, such as Farah Youssef and Ahmed Al Rafeay, so I already knew what they were capable of. Others were completely new to me. In some cases, I wanted audiences to see actors in a different light. For example, I really wanted Amr Wahba to take on a serious role rather than comedy.
Sometimes it simply comes down to instinct. With Ahmed Faheem as the father and Samaa Ibrahim as the mother, I trusted my instincts.
For Jessica Hossam&rsquo;s character, Maryam, I wanted someone who naturally appeared innocent.
For Hana Jayda Mansour&rsquo;s character, I was looking for someone who always tries to do the right thing and carries herself with confidence.
Dalida Joudy Masoud&rsquo;s character needed someone who could express anger and strength despite having an appearance that suggested the opposite.
As for Nahed Reem Al Masry&rsquo;s character, I wanted her to represent the beautiful village girl who marries into a family from a different social class.
Generation Z has its own language and way of thinking. How did you ensure the series portrayed them realistically while making its messages accessible to audiences of all ages?
I believe the series felt very realistic, largely because of the research carried out by the writers. They were committed to understanding this generation and the challenges it faces.
Personally, my children are around that age, so I am already close to this generation. I understand the way they speak and how they view the world, which helped me portray them in a natural and authentic way.

Amr Wahba and Jessica Hossam both played roles very different from what audiences are used to seeing from them. How challenging was it to direct them in those roles?
Casting Amr Wahba was not a challenge for me because I always knew he was capable of doing it. The real challenge was convincing the producers and the platform because they were used to seeing him in comedy. I believed from the beginning that he had the ability, and his audition confirmed that.
As filming progressed, he developed a deeper understanding of the character. At first, he played the police officer as very serious, but after a few days of filming, he realised the character could also have a lighter and more approachable side.
With Jessica, I wanted every look she gave the camera to feel as though she was discovering the world for the first time through her innocent perspective. That innocence was central to her character.
Since the series premiered, what audience reaction made you feel you had achieved your goal?
The comment I received most often was that every girl in the series felt like a unique individual, with her own family, background and personality. That made me feel the effort we put into developing the characters had paid off.
Was there a particular scene that required exceptional time or effort to achieve the final result?
Honestly, almost every scene is difficult to film in Egypt. The weather is extremely hot, and shooting days are physically demanding.
The bathroom fight scene was especially challenging. It was an exhausting day for everyone involved, and Hana (Jayda) had a particularly difficult time filming it. It was definitely one of the hardest days on set.
Working on this series must have brought you closer to the realities and challenges facing today&rsquo;s generation. Did the experience change your perspective on any issues?
It definitely brought me closer to this generation. I realised how much pressure they live under. They grew up with social media and the promise of instant fame, with constant pressure to be visible and attract attention.
Some feel they have to keep pushing themselves to become successful or famous, while others seem completely disconnected from that race. Overall, I think this generation faces enormous pressure because the future feels uncertain.
Everything changes so quickly. Today, artificial intelligence is transforming industries, and many young people no longer feel confident about what the future holds. They are learning how to adapt to constant change, whereas my generation grew up believing life was much more stable.

You recently appeared in a photo with Riham Hagag and Ahmed Mekky. Does the photo hint at a new project together? What are your upcoming plans?
Half the story behind that photo was work-related. I met Riham after &ldquo;Tawabea&rdquo; during Ramadan so we could discuss what worked, what did not, the mistakes we made and what we could improve in future projects.
Meeting Ahmed Mekky happened by coincidence. Riham introduced us, so the photo with him was not connected to any project.

&ldquo;Revo&rdquo; continues to enjoy great popularity. Are there plans for a third season, or do you feel the story has reached its conclusion?
At the moment, there have been no discussions about a third season of "Revo." The writer, Mohamed Nayer, and I have occasionally thought about how the story could continue, but ultimately those decisions depend on the production side.
So far, no production company has expressed interest in developing a third season. I have always believed &ldquo;Revo&rdquo; had the potential to grow beyond a television series into a larger brand, with live music events and concerts, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

NileFM interviewed Rev about the experiences that shaped his career, the challenges he faced while establishing himself in the industry, and the creative process behind crafting a memorable set. He also shares insights into balancing music production with live performances, staying true to his artistic identity while adapting to different audiences, and reflects on his DJ of the Week set.
Tell Us About Your Background And Where Your Journey Began. I started DJing around 2010. It all began with a real passion for music, especially house music, and over time it became more serious, as I started performing and exploring the scene.

It wasn&rsquo;t really one specific moment; it was more of a gradual feeling. The more I played and spent time around music, the more I realized this is what I truly enjoy doing and want to keep developing. You are well-known for immersing yourself in different cultures during your travels. How do these global experiences translate into your sound and performance curation? Honestly, I don&rsquo;t focus on specific places when it comes to influencing my sound. I travel mainly for enjoyment, and every place has its own vibe. I think that variety in atmosphere naturally reflects in how I feel and play music. When constructing a new set, what is the core narrative or emotional experience you want to deliver to the dance floor? I like to take people on a journey. I usually start with a warm and deep vibe, build the energy gradually, and then bring it back smoothly at the end. I focus more on feeling and flow rather than a fixed structure.

Like any artist, consistency and finding the right opportunities were not always easy. It takes time to grow, learn, and stay motivated. Balancing the roles of both producer and DJ can be intricate. How do you test a track&rsquo;s efficacy, and what determines whether it makes the cut for a live set? I started producing house music as well, and when I test a track, it&rsquo;s all about how it feels in a set. If it works smoothly in transitions and creates the right energy, it makes the cut. Can you give us a preview of what listeners can expect from your upcoming appearance as NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week? They can expect a smooth journey with deep and groovy house vibes, starting warm, building energy, and keeping a natural flow throughout the set. Is there a particular performance that stands out as a defining moment in your career? What is the story behind it? I played back in 2010 in Little Buddha Club in Hurghada, and also had gigs in Jordan and a private event. Those early experiences were really important for me and helped shape my path. Never stop dreaming. In 2023, The Ghetto Kids participated in Britain&rsquo;s Got Talent, dancing to &ldquo;Waka Waka&rdquo; by Shakira, and won the Golden Buzzer. In 2026, they returned, but this time alongside their idol Shakira, dancing with her in the official video for the World Cup song &ldquo;Dai Dai.&rdquo; Additionally, the Ghetto Kids are preparing for the performance of a lifetime, showing off their moves alongside the Colombian superstar at the World Cup Final halftime show on 19 July 2026.
NileFM spoke exclusively with Ghetto Kids founder Dauda Kavuma about their dream coming true, what&rsquo;s coming next, and the inspiring journey behind the group.

The Ghetto Kids, formerly known as Triplets Ghetto Kids, are an internationally acclaimed music and dance group from the Katwe slums in Kampala, Uganda. Founded in 2014 by dance teacher Dauda Kavuma, the group is composed of orphaned and vulnerable children who use the performing arts to improve their lives and fund their education.
Take us back to the beginning. How did the idea for Ghetto Kids start, and how many children are currently part of the group? We started in 2014. Ghetto Kids is an NGO inspired by Triple S. The group comprises orphaned, vulnerable, and less privileged children. We all live under one roof at our foundation home. There are currently 60 children aged between three and 18. We use music and drama to build a better life by providing education, shelter, food, healthcare, and clothing.

After your video asking Shakira to perform with you went viral, how did you receive the news that she had accepted? What was your reaction? We felt so excited. It was unbelievable; we genuinely did not see it coming. One of the kids, Akram, saw the update on Instagram and immediately showed it to the others. They were so happy, jumping up and down and crying tears of pure joy.

Your dance videos consistently impress millions of viewers. On average, how long does it take to create and perfect a dance routine before filming? Usually, it does not take much time at all. Once we receive a song, either I or our social media manager will play it for the kids. They listen, and within a few minutes, everyone comes up with their own dance moves. We do not typically teach them rigid choreography; they create the movements themselves. Sometimes we do not even rehearse; we just go on set and shoot organically.

After &ldquo;Dai Dai&rdquo; became a huge success, you started creating dance videos inspired by different countries and cultures. What were the biggest challenges in adapting to so many different dance styles? There were not really any major challenges. We adapt quite easily. We have produced videos inspired by various international tracks, like "ODG" by a Nigerian artist, and others. The process has always been incredibly smooth for us.
From receiving the Golden Buzzer on Britain&rsquo;s Got Talent to performing on one of the world&rsquo;s biggest stages, the FIFA World Cup, how has this incredible journey shaped you both personally and professionally? I feel immensely blessed to have performed to &ldquo;Waka Waka,&rdquo; and to now transition from that into the official World Cup. It feels like a blessing from God. Professionally, our previous appearance was a competitive performance, but now we get to perform on global stages without being judged. We simply express who we are.
With so many children living, training, and performing together, how do you maintain teamwork and harmony? And when planning a new video, how do you decide which ideas to bring to life? Most of the time, we collaborate directly with the children, which is exactly how we maintain that harmony. We do not just make decisions on our own; we discuss ideas, listen to their thoughts, and create something meaningful together. That shared teamwork is what keeps us moving forward.
When planning a video, our ultimate focus is on capturing happiness and joy. We always aim for something organic and natural because we never want it to feel forced or fake.

The Ghetto journey is constantly progressing and moving forward. We have achieved milestones we never imagined could be real. This entire experience has been completely life-changing.

We can already see many opportunities and doors opening. We hope to work with various international artists and perhaps even join Shakira on tour someday. We would love to collaborate more extensively with her, because the World Cup stage alone cannot showcase the full depth of our dance style. On tour, we could express so much more.
We also hope to build a dedicated rehabilitation and education centre to further support the children.

Husa &amp; Zeyada, the Egyptian-Canadian electronic duo and live act, will join "Let's Dance" with Nancy on NileFM this Monday for a special hour of music from 7pm to 8pm.

Husa &amp; Zeyada have become a fixture of Egypt's electronic music scene through their distinctive blend of singer-songwriter Zeyada's indie rock influences and DJ-producer Adam Husa's hypnotic deep house production.
The duo's story began during the Covid-19 pandemic. After living in New York, Zeyada returned to Egypt, while Husa relocated from Canada. The pair met in Dahab and completed their first album in just one month.

Electronic Duo Husa & Zeyada Set For NileFM's "Let's Dance" With Nancy

Following the release of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, many cinema-goers have been introduced to Homer's epic tale on the big screen.
Based on the ancient Greek poem by Homer, The Odyssey follows the legendary hero Odysseus (Matt Damon) after the end of the 10-year Trojan War as he attempts to return to his kingdom of Ithaca. Along the way, he encounters mythical creatures, vengeful gods and a series of challenges that test his courage and resilience.

For a different take on Homer's epic, the Coen brothers' O Brother, Where Art Thou? offers a modern reinterpretation.

Braveheart (1995)
Although not based on Greek mythology, Braveheart explores many of the same themes found in The Odyssey, including honour, sacrifice, perseverance and the pursuit of freedom.
Inspired by the life of Scottish knight William Wallace, the film follows his rebellion against King Edward I of England after personal tragedy changes the course of his life.
Directed by and starring Mel Gibson, Braveheart won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

American record producer Benny Blanco has announced that his wife, Selena Gomez, is teaming up with singer Becky G on a new song titled "Te Olvido (La La)".
Blanco shared the announcement on Instagram, posting a preview of the track alongside the caption: "POV: your new song with wifey and Becky drops in a few days, but you are the only one in the world who has the MP3."
The song is due to be released on 31 July 2026 and will feature on Blanco's forthcoming Spanish-language album, Hermoso.

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez's Musical Journey
This is not the first time Blanco and Gomez have worked together.
Earlier in their relationship, the couple released the collaborative album I Said I Love You First, a 14-track record chronicling their relationship and featuring collaborations with Gracie Abrams, J Balvin and Tainy. The album was released before the couple married in September 2025.
Their musical partnership began even earlier with the 2019 single "I Can't Get Enough", which also featured J Balvin and Tainy. At the time, Gomez and Blanco were collaborators but had not yet begun a relationship.

Music has always been more than entertainment for Egyptian entrepreneur May Eldeeb. For the founder and creative director of Ritmo Apparel, it became the inspiration behind her fashion brand, creative identity and entrepreneurial journey.
Speaking on &ldquo;The Big Drive&rdquo; with Zeinab and Sami, Eldeeb explained how her passion for music influenced every aspect of Ritmo, from its name and collections to the way she approaches design, while also discussing the challenges of building an Egyptian fashion brand.
From Music Dreams to Fashion
Before entering the fashion industry, Eldeeb dreamed of becoming an astronaut. She later became fascinated by the idea of becoming a DJ.
&ldquo;I thought being a female DJ would be amazing, but I stayed home because my parents wouldn&rsquo;t approve,&rdquo; she recalled.
After studying at the American International School and later completing fashion courses with the London College of Fashion, she decided to launch Ritmo in January 2021.
The Story Behind Ritmo
The name &ldquo;Ritmo&rdquo; means &ldquo;rhythm&rdquo; in Italian.
&ldquo;I believe everything sounds good in Italian,&rdquo; she joked.
The inspiration came while she was developing the brand&rsquo;s identity and listening to music during the creative process. While working on Ritmo&rsquo;s brand manual, she heard The Black Eyed Peas song &ldquo;RITMO&rdquo;, which ultimately inspired the brand&rsquo;s name.
For Eldeeb, rhythm represents the creative process behind every collection and reflects the connection between music, emotion and fashion.
&ldquo;Quiet Until You Look Closer&rdquo;
One of Ritmo&rsquo;s core philosophies is the phrase &ldquo;Quiet Until You Look Closer&rdquo;.
Eldeeb explained that, just as music can transform people&rsquo;s emotions, clothing can influence how they feel throughout the day.
&ldquo;You dress according to the rhythm you want your day to have,&rdquo; she said.
She compared a wardrobe to the soundtrack of someone&rsquo;s life, explaining that butterflies became one of Ritmo&rsquo;s signature symbols because they represent transformation.
The butterfly motif is often hidden within the details of a garment, appearing in stitching, inside a jacket or in the pocket of a pair of jeans &mdash; details designed to be discovered rather than immediately noticed.
Every Collection Starts With Music
Music does not only inspire the brand&rsquo;s name. Many of Ritmo&rsquo;s collections and individual pieces are named after musical concepts, including Tempo, Beat and 11:11.
Eldeeb said music often guides the direction of her designs.
She cited Bob Marley as an influence, pointing to his military-style jackets and the message of unity behind &ldquo;One Love&rdquo;. She also mentioned Michael Jackson as an inspiration for some of her interpretations of the mandarin jacket.
Designing Clothes She Wanted to Wear
Eldeeb said Ritmo began with a simple question:
&ldquo;What do I wish I could find?&rdquo;
Before launching the brand, she often struggled to find pieces that matched her personal style.
&ldquo;I wanted leather jackets because they transform you. They give you that rock-and-roll feeling.&rdquo;
She begins each collection by sketching ideas before searching for the right fabrics, with a focus on creating clothing that she personally wants to wear.
Changing Perceptions of Local Fashion
Eldeeb also discussed misconceptions surrounding Egyptian fashion brands.
&ldquo;People think local brands should be cheap.&rdquo;
She explained that producing locally can often be more expensive because of manufacturing costs, advertising, taxes and photo shoots.
She believes consumers should avoid judging brands simply because they are Egyptian.
&ldquo;Every market has different segments.&rdquo;
The Biggest Challenge
For Eldeeb, the hardest part of fashion is not generating ideas but bringing them to life.
Finding manufacturers and craftsmen who can translate sketches into finished garments remains one of her biggest challenges.
Despite these difficulties, she said nothing compares to seeing customers wearing Ritmo designs.
&ldquo;It&rsquo;s such an emotional moment,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;When people tag the brand, it feels like a message from God telling me to keep going.&rdquo;
Social Media&rsquo;s Double-Edged Sword
Eldeeb described social media as both essential and challenging.
While it has become the brand&rsquo;s biggest source of awareness, she believes consumers should make a greater effort to distinguish genuine reviews from misleading content.
&ldquo;If everyone contributes honest and ethical reviews, the entire ecosystem will grow.&rdquo;
Looking Ahead
Looking to the future, Eldeeb hopes to showcase Ritmo at Copenhagen Fashion Week, which she admires for its creativity, colour palette and overall atmosphere.
Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple:
&ldquo;Jump off the mountain. Open the parachute on the way down.&rdquo;
&ldquo;No one can fully prepare you for entrepreneurship. It has ups and downs, so you just have to start.&rdquo;

What started as a passion project during the COVID-19 pandemic has grown into a local fashion brand that blends Egyptian culture with modern streetwear. During the interview, co-founder Laila Tamer shared the story behind Benteiin, the challenges the sisters faced and the lessons they learnt while building their business.
A Passion That Became a Business
Before launching Benteiin, Laila worked as a graphic designer with a passion for fashion. She and her sister Judy always enjoyed styling outfits, creating original designs and dreaming of launching their own clothing brand.
The COVID-19 lockdown gave them the opportunity to turn that dream into reality.
"We kept asking ourselves, 'Why not turn our passion into a business?'"
The sisters began learning everything they could about clothing production, content creation and building a fashion brand from the ground up.
The Meaning Behind Benteiin
Laila explained that she and her sister had dreamed of starting a fashion brand since they were teenagers. Inspired by their mother's encouragement to become independent, they decided to take the leap.
What sets Benteiin apart is its blend of contemporary fashion with Egyptian culture.
"I once designed a hoodie inspired by Umm Kulthum," Laila said, highlighting the brand's aim of reimagining Egyptian cultural icons through modern fashion.
From the beginning, the sisters focused on delivering high-quality products at affordable prices without compromising their creative vision.
Overcoming Challenges
One of the biggest challenges was living up to their slogan: "Producing the highest quality at the lowest prices."
Finding reliable suppliers, maintaining product quality and keeping prices affordable proved to be among the most difficult aspects of their journey.
They also faced unexpected challenges with manufacturers, who sometimes changed agreed prices after production had already begun. Like many start-ups, there were periods when they had very few customers.
Despite those setbacks, Laila never lost faith in the brand.
"I always believed in Benteiin," she said, adding that her mother's continued support motivated her to keep producing and moving forward.
Looking back, Laila wishes someone had told her to be more patient.
"I expected success from day one," she admitted. "I've learnt that it's OK to ask for help. You don't have to do everything on your own."
While Laila focuses on designing the collections, Judy manages marketing and customer relations. The sisters laughed as they recalled believing they would become millionaires almost immediately after launching the business.
Instead, they gradually built their audience by sending products to content creators and taking part in pop-up events.
Building a Community Through Storytelling
Rather than simply promoting products, Benteiin focused on telling its story.
Laila explained that social media became an important marketing tool, allowing the sisters to share behind-the-scenes moments, document the brand's journey and involve customers in every milestone.
"When people connect with your story, they trust you," she said. "It's not just about the product; it's about the journey behind it."
Advice for Future Entrepreneurs
Laila encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs not to wait for the perfect moment before launching their ideas.
"Don't wait for the perfect time. If you have an idea, go for it. Create your own opportunities because you'll learn so much throughout the journey."
She also expressed gratitude to her sister Judy for being her partner throughout every stage of building Benteiin.

The Story Behind Benteiin: How Two Egyptian Sisters Built A Modern Fashion Brand

Egyptian DJ and producer Philippe El Sisi joined Nancy on Let's Dance, airing every Monday from 7pm to 8pm, to reflect on his two-decade career, his rise on the international trance scene, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in music production and what fans can expect next.
Widely known as the "Anthem Guy", Philippe has established himself as one of the leading artists in the Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE) family, with five official FSOE anthems to his name. His euphoric productions have become staples of the global progressive and trance scene, while his performances continue to attract audiences around the world.
Throughout his career, Philippe has performed in Argentina, Australia, the United States and clubs across Europe and Asia. He has also appeared at some of the world's biggest electronic music events, including Tomorrowland, Romania's Untold Festival, Zurich's Street Parade, Future Sound of Egypt at the Great Pyramids of Giza and Shine Ibiza, where he performed alongside artists including Above &amp; Beyond and Paul van Dyk.
As a producer, Philippe has also earned widespread recognition, with ten of his tracks selected as Future Favorites on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance, cementing his reputation as one of Egypt's leading trance producers.
A Journey That Started at Five
Philippe revealed that his passion for music began at an early age.
"My musical journey began more than twenty years ago. When I was five years old, I started playing the piano by ear. Whenever I heard a melody, I could play it."
As he grew older, he developed a passion for electronic dance music, inspired by artists including Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Egyptian trance duo Aly &amp; Fila.
He recalled attending rave events with friends before Aly Fathallah of Aly &amp; Fila encouraged him to start producing music, leading to his first official release in 2006.
Support From Trance Legends
One of Philippe's biggest career milestones came in 2007 when his music was featured on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance during the show's early years.
He recalled Armin introducing him as "the rising star from Egypt", describing the moment as a turning point that helped launch his international career.
Philippe explained that being featured on globally recognised radio shows such as A State of Trance and Paul van Dyk's radio programme introduced his music to millions of listeners and significantly expanded his international fanbase.
A Lifelong Friendship With Aly &amp; Fila
Philippe also spoke about his long-standing friendship with Egyptian trance icons Aly &amp; Fila.
"We've known each other since school," he said, adding that they began collaborating around 2009.
Among their best-known collaborations is Count on Me, featuring vocalist Jaren Cerf. Released during the COVID-19 pandemic, the track spent three weeks at No. 1 on Beatport and became one of the year's biggest trance releases, finishing as the second-highest-ranked trance track on Armin van Buuren's annual A State of Trance Top 20.
Working With Elissa
Beyond electronic music, Philippe has also worked with Lebanese superstar Elissa.
He produced multiple songs for the singer and created remixes for her performances at Saudi Arabia's MDLBEAST festival, where she performed updated versions of her classic hits that quickly gained widespread attention online.
The Power of Believing in Yourself
Asked about confidence and perseverance, Philippe said success begins with self-belief and persistence.
"If you believe in yourself, you can do it," he said. "I don't think I'm a genius. I just trusted the process and kept believing in what I wanted to achieve."
Performing Around the World
Philippe's first international performance came in 2009 during a mini tour of Argentina, where he performed in Buenos Aires and Rosario.
Since then, he has performed for audiences across the globe and says one of the most rewarding experiences is seeing people connect emotionally with his music, even without lyrics.
AI Is a Tool, Not a Replacement
Discussing artificial intelligence, Philippe emphasised that he views AI as a creative assistant rather than a replacement for musicians.
He said he would never rely on AI to generate an entire song but uses it to streamline certain stages of production, including vocal processing and workflow improvements.
"Creating an album used to take around six months," he explained. "With AI tools, it can now take around three weeks. But I still create the melodies, drums and the entire track myself. AI simply helps speed up parts of the production process."
Favourite Festivals
Among the many festivals he has performed at, Philippe highlighted three as his favourites.
Street Parade in Zurich remains one of his most memorable experiences, where he performed on a truck in front of more than one million people and appeared on Swiss national television in 2019.
He also named Tomorrowland as one of the festivals he hopes to return to and praised Romania's Untold Festival as another unforgettable experience.
What's Next?
Looking ahead, Philippe revealed that he is focusing on expanding his live performances.
His first full live performance took place in Kuala Lumpur in May, marking a new chapter in his career.
"It's more challenging than DJing, but I love it," he said.
He also confirmed that several collaborations are currently in development, including projects with E-Dash, Mina and other artists.
Advice for Young Artists
Philippe encouraged aspiring musicians to protect both their hearing and their dreams.
He stressed the importance of wearing ear protection during performances and reminded artists to prioritise their health despite working in loud environments.
For newcomers hoping to break into the music industry, he believes independent releases have made it easier than ever for emerging artists to build an audience without waiting for major record labels.
Rather than relying solely on established labels, Philippe encouraged young producers to release their own music, develop their audience and trust the process.
"Believe in yourself, don't quit, stay consistent and have faith in God," he said. "There will always be obstacles, but if you keep going, you'll get where you want to be."

Egypt will continue to experience a slight drop in temperatures across the northern parts of the country, extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
The weather will remain very hot and humid during the day across most of the country, while the northern coast will experience hot and humid conditions. At night, temperatures will be warm and humid across most areas.
There is a slight chance of low cloud over scattered parts of the north-western coast and the northern Nile Delta. With humidity levels increasing, there is also a very slight chance of light rain, with a probability of around 20% in some areas.
Winds will be active at times, reaching speeds of 30 to 35km/h, helping to moderate temperatures, particularly in exposed areas.
Along the Mediterranean coast, including Marsa Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim and Gamasa, winds are expected to generate waves between 1.5 and 2 metres high.
Meanwhile, maritime navigation is expected to be disrupted in parts of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez due to winds reaching 40 to 60km/h, with wave heights of between 2 and 3 metres.

Warm and humid conditions will continue during the early morning, while hot and humid weather is expected across northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo. Southern parts of the country will remain very hot during the daytime, with warm and humid conditions persisting in most areas overnight.
There is a slight possibility of low cloud formation over parts of the north-western coast and the northern Nile Delta. Rising humidity levels will also bring a 20% chance of light rain in isolated areas.
Winds are expected to become active across most regions, reaching speeds of 30 to 35 km/h, helping to reduce the impact of high humidity in exposed areas.
Along the coasts of Marsa Matruh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim and Gamasa, winds are expected to produce waves of 1.5 to 2 metres.
Meanwhile, maritime navigation is expected to be affected along parts of the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez coasts due to stronger winds of 40 to 60 km/h, with wave heights reaching 2 to 3 metres.

Winds of 30 to 40km/h will affect much of the country, offering some relief in exposed areas. Dust and sandstorms may affect parts of the north-western coast, the Matrouh Desert, Halayeb, Shalateen and the southern Eastern Desert at times.
Strong winds are also expected along the coasts of Salloum, Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Port Said, Damietta and El Arish, with wave heights ranging from 1.5 to 2.25 metres.

The weather is expected to be extremely hot and humid during the day across most of the country, while the northern coast will experience hot and humid conditions. At night, conditions will remain warm and humid in most areas.
There is a slight chance of low cloud over parts of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coast and the Canal cities, with the possibility of light, scattered drizzle in some areas.
Suspended dust is expected during the day in parts of Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities and northern Upper Egypt.
The EMA also forecasts a 20% chance of light to moderate thunderstorms over Halaib, Shalateen, the southern Eastern Desert and Abu Simbel at intervals throughout the day.
Light rain is expected overnight in parts of Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, the eastern Nile Delta and central Sinai, which may help lower temperatures slightly in some exposed areas.
Dust storms are also possible in parts of the north-western coast, the Matrouh Desert, Halaib, Shalateen, the southern Eastern Desert and Abu Simbel at intervals.

"I never try to be pushy in a negative way because the world is small," he explained. Whether he's trying to secure a guest or build a new business relationship, he believes persistence should never damage future opportunities. "If it's somebody I really admire and want to work with, I'll find another way to reach them. If someone is ignoring you, get to the point where they can't avoid you, but do it respectfully." Why Sending the First Message Doesn't Scare Him Unlike many people who hesitate before reaching out to someone successful, Kerolos says fear has never stopped him. "I never get scared of reaching out to anybody because there will always be another person." To him, rejection is simply part of the process rather than something to avoid. The Biggest Mistake Young People Make According to Kerolos, one of the biggest mistakes he sees is approaching opportunities with a sense of entitlement. "A lot of people ask for opportunities expecting to get something immediately," he said. While he's happy to help others, he believes opportunities must be matched by effort. "People who feel entitled rarely put in the work. Entitlement at a young age is a recipe for disaster." He added that many experienced entrepreneurs avoid working with people who believe success should simply be handed to them. Convincing High-Profile Guests to Say Yes One of the questions Kerolos receives most often is how he convinces influential entrepreneurs to appear in his videos. His answer is surprisingly simple. Many of the successful people he interviews aren't interested in publicity at all. "I actually love interviewing people who don't like publicity." Instead of focusing on exposure, he approaches them by explaining how their stories can provide value to others, support charitable initiatives, or inspire future entrepreneurs. "It's never about making them famous. They don't need that." Confidence Comes From Repetition For Kerolos, confidence isn't something people are born with, it develops through repetition. "I believe in reps." Before creating content, he spent years working with hospitality business owners in the United States, an experience that taught him how to deal with rejection. "They were probably the most ruthless when it came to saying no." By the time he began filming content in South Africa, approaching strangers felt far less intimidating. However, he believes confidence and repetition work together. "You have to believe in yourself enough to start, and then the reps build the confidence." The Biggest Myths About Successful People Kerolos believes people often misunderstand what success looks like. Many assume successful people possess extraordinary abilities, when in reality they're often ordinary people who have simply spent years mastering their craft. "They just have more experience than you." He also challenged another common misconception, that wealthy people are inherently selfish. "A lot of successful people genuinely want to provide value because they're passionate about what they do." Whether building businesses, creating television, or developing real estate, he believes many successful entrepreneurs simply turned the passions they had as children into lifelong careers. The Craziest Way He Landed a Collaboration Persistence paid off in one unforgettable experience while filming in South Africa. After being rejected five separate times by a potential guest, Kerolos came up with an unconventional solution. He convinced people around the executive to schedule what appeared to be a professional meeting, giving him the opportunity to finally speak with the businessman face-to-face. After a 30-minute conversation, the executive agreed to meet him again the following morning. The experience reinforced Kerolos' belief that persistence often succeeds when paired with creativity and respect. The One Person He'd Love to Meet If given the opportunity to interview anyone, Kerolos doesn't hesitate. "The Lebanese singer Fairuz." Calling her a legend, he says she's someone he's admired for years. Advice to His Younger Self Looking back, Kerolos wishes he had started even earlier. "Make the mistakes early." He believes the teenage years are the perfect time to experiment, fail, and gain experience before adulthood brings greater responsibilities. "Don't wait until you graduate. Start while you're still in school." He also encourages young people to surround themselves with individuals from different generations rather than only looking at people who have already achieved success. Briefs that used to take hours get knocked out in minutes. A track idea you&rsquo;d sit on for days can be mocked up before your coffee gets cold. The tech is fast. The debate is faster.
From Threat to Teammate
A lot of creatives are changing the game; AI isn&rsquo;t the enemy, it&rsquo;s the new collaborator. Producers are using it to test weird sounds they&rsquo;d never try otherwise. Content creators lean on it to beat blank-page panic or tighten a messy first draft.
Grimes basically set the tone for this mindset. She told fans to go ahead and use AI versions of her voice in their music, just split the royalties if it makes money. No lawsuits, no drama. Just, &ldquo;Let&rsquo;s see what happens.&rdquo;
&nbsp;But then there&rsquo;s the other side. Those viral AI tracks with &ldquo;Drake&rdquo; and &ldquo;The Weeknd&rdquo; last year? Neither artist stepped in a booth. It blew up the whole conversation around consent, identity, and who actually owns a sound.
The Copyright Mess
This is where it gets tense. AI models train on massive amounts of existing work; songs, scripts, paintings, and photos. A lot of it is copyrighted. Most of it was used without permission.
That&rsquo;s why the lawsuits keep coming. The Writers Guild of America drew a hard line during the strikes: AI can&rsquo;t write your screenplay. Human writers stay in control.
Illustrators and photographers are saying the same thing. If your art was used to teach a machine that now generates images in your style, and you weren&rsquo;t asked or paid, that&rsquo;s a problem.&nbsp;
So What&rsquo;s Happening in Egypt?
&nbsp;Cairo&rsquo;s creative scene is already testing the waters. Open TikTok or Instagram and you&rsquo;ll find young Egyptian producers dropping AI-assisted beats, designers using it for quick edits, and digital artists experimenting with new styles.
&nbsp;For a lot of them, AI isn&rsquo;t scary. It&rsquo;s leverage. In a digital economy where speed and volume matter, being able to pitch three solid concepts before noon instead of one by Thursday is a game-changer.
The questions we&rsquo;re still figuring out: Who&rsquo;s teaching people how to use these tools well? Are agencies, labels, and studios ready for how fast this is moving? And if access isn&rsquo;t equal, who gets left behind?
We&rsquo;ve Been Here Before
Every major creative tool started with panic. Photoshop was going to kill photography. Auto-Tune was going to kill real singers. Drum machines were going to kill drummers.
One analyst told the BBC: &ldquo;Every innovation in creative tools starts with fear. Then we realize it just expands what&rsquo;s possible. The human part doesn&rsquo;t disappear, it just moves.&rdquo;
AI can generate, remix, and suggest all day. But it doesn&rsquo;t get obsessed with a weird idea at 2 am. It doesn&rsquo;t have taste. It doesn&rsquo;t have a point of view or a story it needs to tell.
Bottom Line
So maybe the question isn&rsquo;t &ldquo;Can AI be creative?&rdquo;
It&rsquo;s &ldquo;Can we stay creative enough to use it right and make sure it doesn&rsquo;t use us?&rdquo;
The balance between human imagination and machine help? That&rsquo;s where the real story is right now. And it&rsquo;s moving fast.

Is AI Replacing Creativity or Supercharging It? How AI Tools Are Changing Music, Art, and Everyday Life

Egypt&rsquo;s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, has announced the launch of a nationwide medical and ambulance plan for Eid al-Fitr 2026, aimed at ensuring readiness across the health system during the holiday period.
The ministry said more than 700 government hospitals have increased emergency preparedness, with emergency departments and operating theatres functioning around the clock as travel and public gatherings rise.
Ambulance Services and Rapid Response
The plan includes enhanced deployment by the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, with around 3,000 ambulances operating across governorates and an additional 1,200 vehicles positioned at key locations.
Ambulances have been stationed near main roads, public squares, mosques, Eid prayer areas, parks, and other gathering points. Twenty-seven emergency rooms are linked to a central control centre to enable real-time monitoring and dispatch, while regional officials oversee high-traffic areas.

Focus on Major Roads
Authorities say priority has been given to major routes, including the coastal road between Damietta and Matrouh, the Cairo-Alexandria desert road, the agricultural road, as well as routes in South Sinai, the Red Sea, and Upper Egypt.
More than 600 fixed and mobile ambulance points have been deployed along these roads to allow rapid response to accidents.
Hospital Preparedness
Hospitals have also increased capacity in emergency and intensive care units. Around 250 facilities have been designated as primary referral centres on highways, supported by 54 rapid response teams for large-scale incidents.
Blood banks have been supplied with an additional 40,000 units, and medical stocks have been reinforced to meet potential demand.
Public Health Measures
The preventive medicine sector has intensified inspections of more than 35,000 food outlets, including sweet shops, restaurants, hotels, parks, and public transport hubs.
Around 1,200 inspection teams have been deployed to monitor compliance with health and safety standards.
Monitoring and Public Guidance
A central operations room will operate круглосуточно to monitor implementation of the plan.
The ministry has also urged the public to follow health guidelines, with the hotline 137 available for medical enquiries and emergency assistance throughout the Eid holiday.

Airing from 8 to 10 AM, the conversation explored international collaboration, student mobility, and the benefits of transnational education for learners seeking global opportunities without leaving home.
Defining Herself as an Educator
Nesma shared her personal perspective on her role: &ldquo;So I&rsquo;m at the British Council, but how I define myself is as an educator, an education researcher. I&rsquo;ve been working in higher education for 15 years, which technically means research around higher education opportunities within the region, with the aim of informing the UK sector of these opportunities and then bridging, making connections, and building these relationships between the UK, Egypt, and beyond.&rdquo;
When asked why education is such a passion, she said, &ldquo;I&rsquo;ve always been a lifelong learner. Education is at the core of development, supporting people to find what they&rsquo;re meant to do and helping nations meet their goals. Knowledge is power, regardless of where it comes from.&rdquo;
What is Transnational Education?
The discussion then turned to transnational education (TNE). Nesma explained: &ldquo;Transnational education is when a university in one country offers a programme or a degree in another country, physically moving to meet students where they are. Instead of Egyptian students travelling to get a degree in the UK, the UK institution comes to Egypt and delivers that in-country through different models.&rdquo;
She highlighted the accessibility of this model: &ldquo;This increases access to international education for students who can&rsquo;t travel for personal, family, or financial reasons. You get the benefits of an international degree without ever having to leave home.&rdquo;
Models of Transnational Education
On international branch campuses: &ldquo;This is one of the independent models of transnational education where a university expands to a new country, offering the same programmes and teaching methods, and bringing its expertise into a new context. Students graduate with one international degree that is very similar to what they would receive if they studied abroad.&rdquo;
On joint degrees: &ldquo;Joint degrees are when two universities come together to develop a programme. You have international expertise alongside local knowledge, creating something relevant to students and their context. It&rsquo;s co-created, combining the strengths of both institutions into one degree accredited by both.&rdquo;
On digital learning: &ldquo;This could be fully online learning, where you&rsquo;re in Egypt studying at a university abroad, which is still transnational education. There are also blended models combining online and face-to-face learning, usually involving a local partner and an international partner. The international side may develop the virtual learning environment and resources, while local expertise ensures the content is contextualised. Exams, for example, may take place in Egypt, even if systems are hosted abroad.&rdquo;
Why Egypt is a Key Destination
Egypt has become the fourth-largest host country globally for UK transnational education programmes, with around 38,000 students enrolled. Nesma explained the appeal: &ldquo;Egypt has 3.8 million students in higher education, expected to grow to 5 million by 2030. There&rsquo;s strong demand, and universities in Egypt are keen to partner with international counterparts. Students trust UK institutions, and government strategies highlight internationalisation as a priority.&rdquo;
The Benefits for Students
The advantages extend beyond studying locally. Nesma highlighted global recognition and employability: &ldquo;You get a degree that can be used anywhere in the world without needing revalidation. Students also develop critical thinking, leadership, communication, and intercultural skills that are highly valued by employers.&rdquo;
She also emphasised the British Council&rsquo;s role: &ldquo;We work with governments, institutions, and learners. We help ensure supportive regulations, bring stakeholders together through networking, and guide students on accessing opportunities. Everything we do is research-driven to continuously improve partnerships.&rdquo;
Regional Collaboration through Deep Dialogues
Nesma discussed the recent regional Deep Dialogue in Cairo: &ldquo;Participants from 11 countries came together to learn from different models of transnational education. Mature ecosystems like Egypt shared insights with countries still developing their frameworks. We discussed regulation, quality assurance, and engaged directly with students to understand their experiences.&rdquo;
She added, &ldquo;These dialogues build a community of practice. Connections continue beyond the event, creating sustainable networks that support education across the region.&rdquo;

The film follows the success of "Dune: Part Two," which won two Academy Awards, raising expectations for the trilogy&rsquo;s epic conclusion. Cast Many familiar faces return for the trilogy&rsquo;s final chapter, including Timoth&eacute;e Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Isaac de Bankol&eacute;. Joining the cast is Robert Pattinson. Hans Zimmer Began Working on the Score Years Ago Long before filming began, Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer revealed that he had already started developing ideas for the film&rsquo;s score. Speaking to Variety in 2024, Zimmer recalled that Denis Villeneuve handed him a copy of the screenplay for Dune: Part Three during the production of "Dune: Part Two." &ldquo;Denis comes in on the second day of shooting, and wordlessly comes in and puts "Dune: Part Three" on my desk.
