His journey into music has been gradual, shaped by early experimentation with production and a growing fascination with how DJs influence the energy of a crowd. This Thursday at 10 PM, he brings that experience to radio, sharing both his sound and story.
In this interview, he reflects on his artistic approach, creative process, and what lies ahead.
How would you define DJ Lostboi as an artist, and what sets your sound apart in today&rsquo;s electronic music scene?
I see myself as someone who builds emotion on the dance floor, rather than simply playing tracks. My focus is on taking listeners on a journey through my selections and creating moments they can connect with. I also try to introduce audiences to sounds they may not expect, offering a glimpse into how I experience music.

What was the moment you decided to become a DJ and music producer?

Can you take us behind the scenes of one of your favourite tracks? What story or emotion shaped it?
One of my favourite projects is an upcoming remix titled &ldquo;FLIGHTLINE,&rdquo; created in collaboration with Cairo-based producer Giggs. The lyrics of the original track played a key role in shaping our interpretation.

It feels significant. I have followed the programme for some time, so being featured now marks an important moment for me. It suggests that the work I&rsquo;ve been doing is moving in the right direction.

After 16 years in theatre, Egyptian actor Ahmed Radwan continues to surprise audiences this Ramadan, proving his ability to master a wide range of roles.
This season, he stands out as Shaarawy in &ldquo;El Nos El Tany&rdquo; (Season 2), a comedic police officer whose every appearance involves a new disguise, transforming him into a completely different character. In contrast, in &ldquo;Ard wa Talab&rdquo;, he delivers a deeply emotional performance as Gamal, an investigative journalist uncovering a gang involved in illegal organ trade, leaving viewers both moved and on edge.
Radwan has impressed audiences this year with his versatility, bringing distinct energy to each project, from &ldquo;El Sett&rdquo; and &ldquo;Al Sada Al Afadel&rdquo; to &ldquo;Single Mother Father&rdquo;, &ldquo;El Nos El Tany&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Ard wa Talab.&rdquo;
NileFM goes behind the scenes with Radwan to explore his preparation for Shaarawy in &ldquo;El Nos El Tany&rdquo;, Gamal in &ldquo;Ard wa Talab&rdquo;, and the surprise he has in store as he takes on directing for the first time in his upcoming theatre production.
Shaarawy is full of mystery and suspense. What attracted you to this character from the start?
What drew me to Shaarawy was the idea of someone who appears one way, while we don&rsquo;t really know who he is, only to discover later that he plays a heroic and patriotic role. I found that very engaging, especially working with Ahmed Amin, as the character in the script is quite rebellious and wants to do things her own way.
Having someone guide her to think about the country&rsquo;s interest created a very enjoyable dynamic between us. Our scenes together had strong, fun energy.
I was also drawn to the idea of disguises. Every time he appears, he takes on a different form, making him unrecognisable. That aspect was particularly enjoyable and reminded me of my early days in acting, when I would take on multiple personas, almost as if playing several characters at once.

Did you add anything new to Shaarawy&rsquo;s character that wasn&rsquo;t in the script?
Yes. Developing characters and adding details has always been part of my process. I usually build a backstory, where the character comes from, their life, and their defining traits.
When I worked with director Hossam Ali, he added historical context about the character and the role of officers at that time, which encouraged me to research further.
We also explored the character creatively, even describing him through animal traits. We found that Shaarawy resembled an owl, focused, observant, and slightly suspicious.
Another layer came from working with Ahmed Amin on dialogue. We discovered a playful dynamic through improvisation, particularly in how the characters persuade and challenge each other. That process added something new to the role.
Shaarawy is an officer with hidden patriotic motivations. How did you prepare for the role?
What fascinated me was how some people at the time worked under occupation yet secretly carried out patriotic acts that could put their lives at risk.
I explored this historical aspect through research and documentaries. At the same time, we introduced a comedic tone into the script to balance the character.
The series blends history, espionage, and comedy. How did you balance seriousness and humour?
From the beginning, I agreed with Ahmed Amin that comedy should come naturally from the character and the situation.
It was a challenge, as the cast is highly skilled in comedy. But working with Ahmed Amin and Mohamed Nasser made it easier. My focus was building the character seriously, while they helped shape how humour could flow within the scenes.
What was the most challenging scene for you?
In &ldquo;El Nos El Tany&rdquo;, there weren&rsquo;t difficult scenes. Most were enjoyable, filled with humour, disguises, and playful acting.
One memorable moment was performing as a licorice vendor, where I focused on mastering the physical movements and sounds. It was fun rather than difficult.
The more demanding scenes were in &ldquo;Ard wa Talab&rdquo;, which required intense emotional and physical effort.
What do you hope audiences take away from &ldquo;El Nos El Tany&rdquo;?
I hope they enjoy it. The series already had a strong foundation, and I wanted to contribute positively and integrate well with the team.

The two roles are very different. How did you separate them?
It was exciting to play two contrasting characters during Ramadan, one comedic and one dramatic.
In &ldquo;Ard wa Talab," I played Gamal, a journalist who goes undercover as a kidney donor to expose a criminal network. In &ldquo;El Nos El Tany&rdquo;, I played an officer using disguises for patriotic purposes.
Each role had its own complexity. One relied on humour and disguise, the other on tension and emotional depth. Exploring both sides is what makes acting fulfilling for me.

Was there a memorable behind-the-scenes moment?
On &ldquo;Ard wa Talab," despite the heavy themes, the atmosphere was always light-hearted. The cast, including Salma Abu Deif, Ali Sobhy, Mostafa Abu Sriea, Alaa Morsi, and Rahma Ahmed, brought a lot of humour off camera.
Even during intense scenes, there was always laughter behind the scenes.
Did any scene affect you personally?
There is a major scene in the final episode that was emotionally and physically exhausting. I cannot discuss it yet, but I hope it resonates with audiences.
How does the series raise awareness about organ donation?
I&rsquo;m very proud of &ldquo;Ard wa Talab&rdquo;. It doesn&rsquo;t present issues directly, but weaves them into the narrative, allowing viewers to reflect naturally.
This subtle approach makes the message more powerful.

Working with Marwan Hamed is a dream for any actor. I was fortunate to have a significant role as El Desouki.
Working with Mona Zaki was also a highlight. She is incredibly professional, humble, and supportive.
How does theatre differ from film and television for you?
Theatre offers a unique experience, the preparation, the tension before stepping on stage, and the direct connection with the audience.
Film and television allow for multiple takes and collaboration, but they lack that immediate energy.
What&rsquo;s next for you?
I am currently preparing for a theatre production that I will direct for the first time. It is set to premiere in April.
Beyond that, I am continuing my improvisational theatre work with my team &ldquo;Maktoob Alina," and I&rsquo;m looking forward to future opportunities.

Exclusive | Ahmed Radwan Reveals Behind the Scenes of “El Nos El Tany” and “Ard wa Talab”

Never failing to surprise audiences with her performances, Egyptian actress Hana Ghoneim continues to leave a strong impression every time she appears on screen.
This Ramadan season, Ghoneim delivers a remarkable performance in the series &ldquo;Kan Ya Makan,&rdquo; starring Maged El Kedwany and Yosra El Lozy. She portrays Maya, a kind-hearted chef who finds herself in a toxic relationship after unknowingly falling in love with a married man. The character quickly became one of the most talked-about storylines in the series, which explores the emotional complexities of life after divorce.
But acting is only one side of Ghoneim&rsquo;s artistic journey. She is also an Egyptian singer and performing artist whose career path took an unexpected turn.
Although she initially began her career as an athlete specializing in the high jump and dreamed of representing Egypt at the Olympic Games, a severe foot injury during training ended her sporting ambitions. That turning point redirected her life toward the world of music and performing arts.
Before &ldquo;Kan Ya Makan,&rdquo; Ghoneim appeared in several television projects, including &ldquo;Tel3et Rohi,&rdquo; &ldquo;Wanesni,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Mystery Box.&rdquo;
In an exclusive interview with NileFM, Ghoneim opens about portraying Maya, navigating emotionally intense roles, and her new original music.
1. Your role as Maya in "Kan Ya Makan" is emotionally intense and complex. What made you say yes to this character from the beginning?
I loved Maya the minute I read the audition scenes. She&rsquo;s so full of life, so unapologetically herself, and she goes through life doing what she loves. She&rsquo;s driven by passion.
She kind of reminds me of me, or maybe the version of myself I aspire to be more like. When I read the full script, I fell even more in love with her motives and what drives her. She reminds me of the version of myself I want to be, someone who lives honestly, passionately, and fully.

2. Maya goes through betrayal and emotional shock after discovering Seif&rsquo;s secret marriage. As a woman, how did you emotionally prepare yourself to portray that pain authentically?
When preparing a character, you must build their entire world, their morals, motives, intentions, and emotional logic. So, I had to understand Maya as a person first, and then draw from my own experiences as Hana, from different kinds of betrayals or emotional disappointments.
It&rsquo;s never easy to tap into those feelings, but unfortunately, these situations happen so often around us that you almost become familiar with the emotional landscape of it and how differently people react to betrayal.
Maya, to me, is the type of person who, when betrayed, would obviously be devastated, but at the same time would feel a responsibility to protect the other woman who is also a victim in the situation and warn her.
3. The series highlights toxic relationships. If Maya met someone like Seif in real life, what signs should she look for to recognize toxicity early?
Sometimes, unfortunately, it&rsquo;s almost impossible to detect early on. But I do believe it&rsquo;s always important in relationships to take things slow and steady. Really get to know the person before taking bigger steps.
You need to go through life situations together and observe how they act because actions always speak louder than words. Meet their friends as well, because that often gives you a mirror of the person&rsquo;s personality and values.
In Maya&rsquo;s case, the relationship was still quite new, and she had mostly spent time with Seif alone. In a way, it&rsquo;s good that she discovered the truth before things got even more serious between them.

4. Many viewers expressed support and sympathy for Maya&rsquo;s journey. Why do you think the audience connected so strongly with her story?
I believe it&rsquo;s because she represents a big portion of girls. She&rsquo;s very relatable, just a sweet girl going about her life and falling for someone who is concealing the truth from her.
What was interesting, though, was that the audience was quite divided when it came to Maya&rsquo;s reaction. Some people really connected with her pain and supported her decision to warn her wife, especially considering the wife was pregnant and completely unaware.
But others called Maya a home wrecker simply for telling the wife the truth, even though Seif had already made it clear he wasn&rsquo;t ending things, even after finding out his wife was pregnant.
That reaction honestly shocked me a little bit. Blaming the victim woman instead of assigning responsibility to the actual perpetrator, which is Seif, is unfair. He alone is responsible for his actions.
I think this reaction reflects a larger societal issue, where, unfortunately, the woman is often blamed in relationship dynamics. &ldquo;She stole him,&rdquo; &ldquo;she seduced him,&rdquo; &ldquo;she told the wife because she wants him for herself.&rdquo; In Maya&rsquo;s case, none of that was true, but some people still chose to see it that way.
5. You moved from musical theatre to intense drama. What part of you had to grow up to carry a role like this?
Honestly, I believe art is art. Musical theatre can also be extremely emotionally intense; it&rsquo;s just expressed through a different medium.
So, for me, it wasn&rsquo;t about &ldquo;growing up&rdquo; as much as it was about expressing emotions differently. Of course, over the years I&rsquo;ve lived through experiences that gave me more perspective on life, and that naturally deepens you as an artist.
I&rsquo;ve matured as a person, and I think that maturity will reflect in whatever project I participate in, whether it&rsquo;s a musical or a drama series.
6. What were the biggest challenges you faced transitioning from musical theatre to television drama?
Just to give a bit of context, &ldquo;Kan Ya Makan&rdquo; isn&rsquo;t my first TV acting experience. I was previously cast in &ldquo;Tel3et Rohi,&rdquo; &ldquo;Wanesni,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Mystery Box,&rdquo; so I do have some experience with television.
Over the years, I&rsquo;ve also been consistently taking acting workshops, and I truly believe they have helped prepare me for projects like this. Every role teaches you something new, and I feel like with each project I&rsquo;m refining my tools a little more.

7. The series tackles sensitive social issues such as marriage, divorce, family conflict, and the emotional impact on children. Which issue resonated with you the most personally, and why?
What resonated with me the most was the idea of how the actions of adults can deeply affect innocent people around them, especially children.
When relationships are built on lies, betrayal, or dishonesty, the damage rarely stays between just two people. It spreads outward and affects families and children who had nothing to do with the situation.
That ripple effect was something I found very powerful in the story, and it really stayed with me.
8. Working alongside Maged El Kedwany must have been a valuable experience. What did you learn from him on set?
Maged El Kedwany is honestly such a sweet and warm person. I truly loved him from the moment we started talking. He was very welcoming and encouraging of my participation, and he already knew that I sing and was complimenting me on that.
That kind of encouragement really gives you a boost of confidence as an artist, and it had a positive impact on my performance.
He&rsquo;s an example of an artist who is extremely grounded and down to earth, someone who clearly loves what he does and makes everyone around him feel seen and appreciated.
As an actor, he&rsquo;s incredibly disciplined, unbelievably talented, and very emotionally intelligent. He&rsquo;s very in tune with his emotions and aware of his surroundings, and I think that translates directly into the amazing actor we all know and admire.

9. Many scenes in the series are emotionally heavy. How do you disconnect from the character after filming intense moments?
It can be emotionally draining sometimes. But I try to remind myself that once the director says &ldquo;cut,&rdquo; the character stays on set.
What helps a lot is the atmosphere behind the scenes. Between takes, we were always laughing, chatting, and keeping things light, which helped balance the heaviness of some scenes.
I think having that separation between you and the character is important; it can become overwhelming.
10. Behind the scenes, what was the atmosphere like among the cast? Do you have a memorable moment from filming that you can share?
It was so much fun! The crew was amazing, super supportive, very helpful, and just fun to be around. There was always a lot of laughter on set.
Many of the crew members were already fans of Locken products, which made me so happy. I started bringing them some of our newest launches for them to try, and it became a fun little tradition while we were filming.
11. After your debut in Ramadan drama, what type of roles are you hoping to explore next? And do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about?
I&rsquo;m really hoping to get more opportunities in television and explore more complex, emotionally charged characters, especially characters that are very different from my own personality. I love the challenge of stepping into someone else&rsquo;s world completely.
Now, I&rsquo;m continuing to work on myself and strengthen my acting tools through workshops and training.
And on the music side, I&rsquo;m currently working on new original music that I&rsquo;m really excited about and hoping to release soon.

Exclusive | Hana Ghoneim Opens Up About Her Emotional Role in “Kan Ya Makan”

As Ramadan draws to a close, one of the season&rsquo;s most cherished traditions quietly fades from the streets. The Mesaharati is the drummer who walks neighbourhoods at night, waking families for suhoor, the pre-dawn meal, and keeping a centuries-old tradition alive.
For thirty nights, this historic figure weaves through sleeping streets, beating a drum, or sometimes playing a flute, chanting hymns and calling out names. The role blends devotion, community spirit, and the rhythm of Ramadan heritage.
Some trace the tradition back to the time of Prophet Muhammad when Bilal bin Rabah would wake people for suhoor. Others link it to the Fatimid era in Egypt. Regardless of its origins, the Mesaharati remains a beloved symbol of Ramadan across neighbourhoods.

A Family Tradition Passed Down
Sayed Mahmoud Ismail from Al-Sharqia is one of Egypt&rsquo;s long-serving Mesaharatis. His family has carried the tradition for generations.
&ldquo;My name is Sayed Mahmoud Ismail, from Al-Sharqia. The profession of the Mesaharati is hereditary in my family, passed down from my grandfather to my father, and now I pass it to my children. I hold a bachelor's degree in education, Social Service Department, and I am 42 years old. I have been working as a Mesaharati for more than 20 years,&rdquo; he says.
&ldquo;The whole family has been involved in Mesaharati for a long time. When my son grew up, I wanted to give him a break, so I would go in his place. We inherited the profession together with my siblings.&rdquo;
&ldquo;The first night in the street is full of joy and happiness. The joy of Ramadan is completed with the Mesaharati walking through the streets. When I perform the suhoor rounds, I feel as if Ramadan has come again in all its celebrations, drums, and excitement. It is a feeling of disappearing from the world for a year, fully immersed in the streets.&rdquo;
Keeping the Tradition Alive in Modern Times
&ldquo;Back in the day, there was no electricity and everything was dark. Today, there are lanterns. Back then, the lanterns were made of wax. Ramadan today is different. It is more modern, and children want to hit the drum and participate,&rdquo; Sayed says with a smile.
He explains the essence of the tradition. &ldquo;The secrets of this tradition are rooted in loving people. I love people, and they love me. When a child becomes attached to me, and later has children of their own, they tell them, &lsquo;I grew up with him; he used to walk with me during suhoor.&rsquo;&rdquo;
The role comes with challenges. Families sometimes request specific names to be called, which can be difficult to remember. Others go to sleep early because of work, asking him to wait and make sure they are awake.
&ldquo;The hardest night is the last night. The joy of the children, the drumbeats. It feels like saying goodbye. And if it rains or there is a power outage, I must walk with great effort. People still remember my grandfather and father, and they love us, my children and me. The last night is the hardest because I wonder will I be here next year and will the people still be there.&rdquo;
Advice for the Next Generation
Sayed says the tradition is not just about drumming but about connection and care.
&ldquo;The most important thing is to love people. No child should feel hurt if they want to participate. Everyone should be given their chance, with manners and respect. If someone wants their name to be called, do it.&rdquo;
He adds, &ldquo;I watch the dawn and go out before Fajr. One of the challenges we faced was during COVID-19. We decided not to go out for one year, but people came to the house, insisting we perform the suhoor rounds. It is Ramadan.&rdquo;
A History That Resonates Today
The Mesaharati tradition dates back centuries. Historical accounts mention Otbat Bin Ishaq, an Abbasid-era administrator in Egypt, who reportedly walked through Cairo at night to remind people of the approaching suhoor.
Later, during the Fatimid caliphate, the ruler Al-Hakim Bi Amrillah encouraged people to sleep early after Taraweeh prayers. Military officers were tasked with waking residents by knocking on doors.
Over time, rulers began appointing individuals specifically for the role. Known as Mesaharatis, they would walk through towns and cities, tapping doors with sticks or beating drums to wake households, turning quiet streets into a rhythm of Ramadan tradition.

In Focus | The Last Nights of Ramadan Meet Sayed, Egypt’s Mesaharati

Jordanian singer-songwriter Aziz Maraka speaks to NileFM about his viral visit to Al-Matariya&rsquo;s Ramadan Iftar, performing in Egypt&rsquo;s streets, the stories behind his hit songs, and his upcoming collaborations and children&rsquo;s project.
In Korba, or almost anywhere in Egypt, it is easy to stumble upon a small crowd gathered around someone playing the ukulele. Look a little closer, and you might discover it is the Jordanian composer and singer Aziz Maraka, who has a remarkable ability to draw people in and turn an ordinary moment into something joyful and memorable.
Aziz never fails to surprise his fans, whether by releasing a new song or appearing spontaneously in public spaces. Most recently, he attended the famous Matariya Iftar, where he stood on a balcony to greet and delight Egyptians, showing his genuine affection for the country and its people. Through moments like these, he continues to create shared experiences with his audience, turning music into something communal and heartfelt.
NileFM spoke with Aziz Maraka about his recent collaborations with Houda and Ghaliaa, the stories behind some of his most popular songs, his deep connection with Egypt, and his plans for a children&rsquo;s channel set to launch after Ramadan.
This year, you participated in Iftar in Al-Matariya with the community. Can you tell us about this experience? What caught your attention the most?
I was experiencing Ramadan in Egypt for the first time, so I was excited to see what I could do during Ramadan as both a visitor and someone trying to live the experience like a local. I asked my audience what I should do, and they suggested visiting Al-Matariya and Al-Muizz. The first place we went to was Al-Matariya.
It was an amazing experience, and the most beautiful thing was the generosity of the people. The idea that people welcome you into their homes, even if they do not know you, and insist that you eat with them during Iftar is something you cannot truly believe until you witness it yourself.
One of the most touching things I saw there, as a human being, was that generosity. Some people who follow me on social media recognised me. I spent time greeting them and taking photos. It felt wonderful to be among friends and loved ones. When I shared the experience, it went viral, not only among Egyptians but around the world, including people who had attended the Al-Matariya Iftar before and others who were eager to experience it themselves.

We saw you in the video standing on a balcony among the people in Al-Matariya. What were the behind-the-scenes moments like? How did you feel about people&rsquo;s reactions?
From the moment I arrived in Al-Matariya, we were coordinating with the organisers. Some people were not sure what exactly was going to happen. I even brought the instrument I usually play when performing on the streets, but the setup did not really allow for a place to stand and sing.
I could not immediately see what the organisers had planned. They took me to several balconies and rooftops. On one rooftop, I even met people from Indonesia and Turkey. People from all over the world had come to witness this experience. Honestly, I trusted the organisers completely in Al-Matariya, and they showed me everything happening around us.&nbsp;

You are known for your love of Egypt, and you previously shot &ldquo;Ma Tegy Sekka&rdquo; in Al-Korba. What is your favourite place in Egypt that gives you a different kind of energy?
Al-Korba is very special to me because I filmed a song there. I have a deep love for it, and I cannot describe how challenging it was to bring out pianos, play them in the streets, and take photos with people.
Working with Asmaa Abulyazeid was also a great choice because she is a very loved person. It was the energy of Al-Korba combined with her energy. I also love Old Cairo, Downtown, and Zamalek. Personally, I spend time in Maadi. People who know Egypt from old films often look for that classic image of Egypt there.
I also have a special love for Alexandria because of its audience, and I personally love Dahab as well.
&ldquo;Ma Fi Minnk&rdquo; is one of your most famous songs. Can you share its behind-the-scenes story? Did you expect its huge success?
I can talk about two parts. First, while I was writing the song, I was already addicted to it even before finishing the lyrics. Once the melody came out, I knew I loved it and wanted to release it for the whole world to hear. I used to walk around backstage among musicians and play it for them repeatedly. One day, I will never forget when Yazan Rousan, one of the founders of Autostrad, told me, &ldquo;Please go and record it.&rdquo;
The second part is that we wanted to produce a professional studio version, and we did, but I felt it lost something because I was used to singing it among people. So I suggested recording it in the streets to see whether people would feel the same positive emotion I feel when singing it.
That theory worked, even with multilingual audiences, because the lyrics were not the main factor in the song&rsquo;s success. We shot the video in Istanbul from morning until night. It was exhausting, but we barely felt the fatigue because we were focused on conveying the feeling. That day, I sang the song about 120 times, and each time I enjoyed it. It proved that an artist can deliver emotion to the audience beyond studio recordings and playback.

In your new songs &ldquo;Ma Tegy Sekka&rdquo; and &ldquo;Shaifa Eih&rdquo;, you again involve your fans. What drives you to include them in your work? Any behind-the-scenes moments they might not know about?
I always try, with every song or project, to involve young communities. I have always liked transforming artistic work into a project that can involve as many talented people or fans as possible.
For &ldquo;Ma Tegy Sekka&rdquo;, we launched the idea on Instagram for fans to join us. They stayed with us until 10 pm, and another group arrived at 9 am and stayed until 11 am. The shoot itself went from 10 pm until noon the following day. It was exhausting because once it ended, I had to go home, pack, and travel to Jordan on the same day.
For &ldquo;Shaifa Eih&rdquo; in Beirut, we did the same thing. One of the most memorable moments happened after a long day when we were all exhausted and trying to hold ourselves together. One fan looked at me and said, &ldquo;I understand how much we love you.&rdquo; I replied, &ldquo;Yes, you understood.&rdquo; That was the first time I truly felt that my audience was not just following songs as a trend. They genuinely make an effort, and I am very grateful for that.

You recently released the duet &ldquo;Lolaki&rdquo; with Joseph Attieh. How did this collaboration come about?
Initially, there were discussions between Joseph Attieh&rsquo;s manager and me about working together. I have always admired Joseph&rsquo;s voice. It is powerful, and he is also a very fun and light-hearted person. I wanted to collaborate with him separately from other projects.
One day, I was listening to the original &ldquo;Lolaki&rdquo; and felt inspired to create something new from it. Of course, obtaining the rights was complicated. The real challenge was convincing the composer to allow a different version of the song.
At one point, we even filmed the video before the final agreement was in place, which made the process complicated. After releasing the song, the composer eventually agreed that the idea was good.
Soon you will hear a new version of &ldquo;Lolaki&rdquo;, where I can finally sing &ldquo;Lola, Lola, Lola&rdquo;. That was the biggest challenge because we were not sure we could include that phrase due to production constraints and rights issues. Thankfully, it was approved, and the song will soon be heard in a fresh voice and style.

You have performed some songs with a new spirit. Will we see you reinterpreting older songs in the future?
I have done several experiments before, such as performing &ldquo;An Jadd&rdquo; by Ragheb Alama and &ldquo;Gany&rdquo; by Hakim. I enjoy taking a song and presenting it in a different way.
My university specialisation was music composition. Over the years, I have worked in composition, arrangement, and soundtracks. I enjoy transforming melodies, for example turning a popular song into a piano version or reinterpreting a Cairokee song on the guitar. I simply enjoy experimenting and interacting with other artists&rsquo; work.
Your songs often take listeners on different emotional journeys. How do you reflect those feelings in your music?
Feeling, in general, is about taste. Whether someone is building something, cooking, or simply living everyday life, there is always art and taste involved. I search for the first thing that moves me emotionally. I believe others who share similar feelings will connect with it in the same way.
I try to leave space for listeners to imagine their own images while listening, depending on their mood. The idea is always to maintain good taste in what I choose to share.

Your music has a unique style mixing pop with Eastern vibes. How did you create this identity?
I never tried to create an identity deliberately; it comes naturally. Everyone is influenced by Western and Eastern music, jazz, and rock. I grew up in Tunisia, lived in America, the southern US, and Jordan. I was part of the underground music scene, and in the last five years in Egypt, I learned the Egyptian musical vibe. An artist searching for identity all the time can get lost. Identity comes from life experience, and music reflects it.
After visiting Al-Matariya and your love for Egypt, could we see a full song inspired by Egyptian streets or culture?
This is what I aim for. In my career, I try to reflect the place I&rsquo;m in. Some of my songs already reflect Egyptian music, like &ldquo;Ahla Wahda&rdquo; (lyrics by Menna Elkiey), &ldquo;Miganinani&rdquo; (lyrics by Mohamed El-Shafie), and &ldquo;Ma Tegy Sekka&rdquo; (lyrics by Mohamed Bahiri). I love authentically making collaborations like this. I don&rsquo;t like it when someone comes from outside Egypt, hasn&rsquo;t lived there, hasn&rsquo;t experienced places like Alexandria, Aswan, or Damietta, and hasn&rsquo;t felt the Nile, and then tries to sing Egyptian music. I&rsquo;ve immersed myself in the culture, even experiencing the Nile in Aswan firsthand. My philosophy is that anyone who wants to sing Egyptian music must live it; only then can they capture the authentic sound of Egypt. That&rsquo;s what I&rsquo;m doing now.

Many artists only do concerts, but you perform on the streets and with fans. Is this part of your philosophy that music must be close to the people?
Yes. Concerts are important for income, but I feel emptiness when I&rsquo;m far from fans. Going into the streets allows me to see how people interact with music, hear their stories, and write songs inspired by them. It&rsquo;s one of the richest experiences in life.
If you were to choose a song representing your personality, which one would it be?
All my songs collectively reflect my identity, and I&rsquo;m still discovering myself through them. For example, I have a song that wasn&rsquo;t very popular called &ldquo;The Beginning of the End.&rdquo; It tells the story of someone who hears a voice saying the Earth is about to end, literally. When I wrote the song, I was just entertaining myself, writing about the end of the world, and while writing it I felt distant but convinced I was writing about the idea of the world ending. Four years later, I realised that what I was really expressing was my desire to leave Jordan and move to America to start my future over. This was more than ten years ago. Thankfully, now I&rsquo;m happy in my Arab homeland, but at that time I wanted to leave Jordan and immigrate to the U.S., and I did. Three years later, I discovered the song wasn&rsquo;t about the end of the world; it was about the feeling of leaving my country, which at the time almost felt like the end of the world. Sometimes, an artist writes a song and only later realises why they wrote it.
What new works or collaborations are you preparing? Any upcoming collaborations with Egyptian artists?
Several songs and collaborations are in progress. Recently, I worked with Houda, merging our styles. There&rsquo;s also a collaboration with Anthony from Adonis in Lebanon, and with Ghaliaa. This year is about collaborations.

Defining Herself as an Educator
Nesma shared her personal perspective on her role: &ldquo;So I&rsquo;m at the British Council, but how I define myself is as an educator, an education researcher. I&rsquo;ve been working in higher education for 15 years, which technically means research around higher education opportunities within the region, with the aim of informing the UK sector of these opportunities and then bridging, making connections, and building these relationships between the UK, Egypt, and beyond.&rdquo;
When asked why education is such a passion, she said, &ldquo;I&rsquo;ve always been a lifelong learner. Education is at the core of development, supporting people to find what they&rsquo;re meant to do and helping nations meet their goals. Knowledge is power, regardless of where it comes from.&rdquo;
What is Transnational Education?
The discussion then turned to transnational education (TNE). Nesma explained: &ldquo;Transnational education is when a university in one country offers a programme or a degree in another country, physically moving to meet students where they are. Instead of Egyptian students travelling to get a degree in the UK, the UK institution comes to Egypt and delivers that in-country through different models.&rdquo;
She highlighted the accessibility of this model: &ldquo;This increases access to international education for students who can&rsquo;t travel for personal, family, or financial reasons. You get the benefits of an international degree without ever having to leave home.&rdquo;
Models of Transnational Education
On international branch campuses: &ldquo;This is one of the independent models of transnational education where a university expands to a new country, offering the same programmes and teaching methods, and bringing its expertise into a new context. Students graduate with one international degree that is very similar to what they would receive if they studied abroad.&rdquo;
On joint degrees: &ldquo;Joint degrees are when two universities come together to develop a programme. You have international expertise alongside local knowledge, creating something relevant to students and their context. It&rsquo;s co-created, combining the strengths of both institutions into one degree accredited by both.&rdquo;
On digital learning: &ldquo;This could be fully online learning, where you&rsquo;re in Egypt studying at a university abroad, which is still transnational education. There are also blended models combining online and face-to-face learning, usually involving a local partner and an international partner. The international side may develop the virtual learning environment and resources, while local expertise ensures the content is contextualised. Exams, for example, may take place in Egypt, even if systems are hosted abroad.&rdquo;
Why Egypt is a Key Destination
Egypt has become the fourth-largest host country globally for UK transnational education programmes, with around 38,000 students enrolled. Nesma explained the appeal: &ldquo;Egypt has 3.8 million students in higher education, expected to grow to 5 million by 2030. There&rsquo;s strong demand, and universities in Egypt are keen to partner with international counterparts. Students trust UK institutions, and government strategies highlight internationalisation as a priority.&rdquo;
The Benefits for Students
The advantages extend beyond studying locally. Nesma highlighted global recognition and employability: &ldquo;You get a degree that can be used anywhere in the world without needing revalidation. Students also develop critical thinking, leadership, communication, and intercultural skills that are highly valued by employers.&rdquo;
She also emphasised the British Council&rsquo;s role: &ldquo;We work with governments, institutions, and learners. We help ensure supportive regulations, bring stakeholders together through networking, and guide students on accessing opportunities. Everything we do is research-driven to continuously improve partnerships.&rdquo;
Regional Collaboration through Deep Dialogues
Nesma discussed the recent regional Deep Dialogue in Cairo: &ldquo;Participants from 11 countries came together to learn from different models of transnational education. Mature ecosystems like Egypt shared insights with countries still developing their frameworks. We discussed regulation, quality assurance, and engaged directly with students to understand their experiences.&rdquo;
She added, &ldquo;These dialogues build a community of practice. Connections continue beyond the event, creating sustainable networks that support education across the region.&rdquo;

Alexandria-born DJ and producer Rafik Salama, known professionally as DJ Roofy&rsquo;s, has been named NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week, , a recognition that highlights a steadily evolving career rooted in passion and persistence.
Roofy&rsquo;s began his musical journey at the age of eight, first picking up a guitar before later gravitating towards electronic music and DJing. What started as a personal passion soon evolved into a professional pursuit, driven by what he describes as music&rsquo;s power to connect people.
Based in Alexandria, Roofy&rsquo;s went on to study sound design, refining a style that blends high-energy rhythms with narrative-driven sets. His performances are known for their emotional intensity, aiming not just to move dance floors but to tell stories through sound.
In a conversation with NileFM, Roofy&rsquo;s reflected on the challenges of carving out a space in the music industry, the discipline required to turn passion into a profession, and the creative vision that continues to shape his work.
Let&rsquo;s start from the beginning. Who is Rafik Salama beyond the DJ booth? I&rsquo;m Rafik Salama, a musician at heart. I fell in love with music at the age of eight when I started playing guitar, that&rsquo;s where I first understood how powerful sound and emotion can be. In my 20&rsquo;s, I discovered house music, and it instantly connected with me. The energy, the groove, the feeling, it made me realize I didn&rsquo;t just want to listen to music, I wanted to create moments with it. That&rsquo;s when I decided to become a DJ and follow this path seriously.

House music especially made me feel something spiritual. It wasn&rsquo;t just beats; it was connection. Why did you choose the stage name DJ Roofy&rsquo;s, and what does it represent for you? That was always my nickname in middle school, and I think it&rsquo;s very catchy, and no one in the scene got this name, so definitely that was my choice; people these days don&rsquo;t know my real name. How did you feel when you were named NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week? What does this recognition mean to you at this stage of your journey? It honestly felt exciting. NileFM is a big name radio station, so the opportunity meant a lot to me. It pushed me to say, Let&rsquo;s do it! Your music often feels emotional and deeply connected to the listener. How do you create sets that resonate with the soul? I don&rsquo;t just mix tracks. I build journeys If I don&rsquo;t feel goosebumps while preparing a transition, I won&rsquo;t play it. Energy first, technique second!

Promoters here often believe in DJs who already bring a big crowd, whether they play good music or not. Being born and raised in Alexandria made it even more challenging for me to build a following in Cairo. It&rsquo;s not just about talent here; it&rsquo;s about visibility, connections, and proving yourself over and over again. But that challenge pushed me to work harder, stay consistent, and let the music speak until people started listening. Many people see DJing as a passion project before it becomes a career. When did you realize this wasn&rsquo;t just a hobby but your true profession? The moment I realized I was thinking about music 24/7. When gigs weren&rsquo;t &ldquo;fun nights&rdquo; anymore, they were responsibilities. When I started investing in my craft seriously, equipment, branding, and networking. That&rsquo;s when it became a profession. Walk us through your creative process. How do you prepare your set before going live or performing for a crowd? Before going live, I don&rsquo;t really deal with fear; performing has never been intimidating for me. As a guitarist, I&rsquo;ve played in front of crowds of over 1,000 people, so being on stage feels natural. When I transitioned into DJing, mixing itself felt easy. What matters more to me isn&rsquo;t the technical side; it&rsquo;s the energy. I focus on reading the crowd, building a journey, and creating moments that people will remember. What can the NileFM audience expect from your sound? Any surprises you&rsquo;re planning for listeners? NileFM should expect a fresh set, which I really recorded with passion and heart dancing. The music industry is constantly evolving. How do you stay fresh and continue developing your style while keeping your signature identity? I listen outside my genre. I study sound design. I watch how global DJs evolve. But I always ask! Does this still sound like Roofy&rsquo;s? If the answer is no, I don&rsquo;t play it. Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring DJs who want to turn their love for music into a successful career? Don&rsquo;t chase fame; chase skill. Don&rsquo;t copy trends; build identity. His sound is designed to move people, not just physically, but emotionally. Joe Noise&rsquo;s passion for DJing was sparked by watching how people react to music and fully lose themselves in it. That moment made him realize that sharing emotion and creating impact through sound was his true purpose. NileFM goes behind the decks with Joe Noise for a one-hour set that promises to linger long after it ends, a cinematic experience where listeners feel part of the story and the heroes of it. 1. For listeners discovering you for the first time, who is Joe Noise? And how did your journey behind the decks begin? Joe Noise is an Egyptian DJ and curator focused on melodic techno, progressive trance, and emotionally driven electronic music. My journey started from pure passion. I was always deeply connected to music, not just listening to it but analyzing it, understanding its structure and emotion. That curiosity pushed me behind the decks. What began as a personal exploration evolved into performing at venues like Kanji and launching projects like DeepWave and TranceMission, where the goal has always been to create a musical journey rather than just play tracks.

That was when I realized this isn&rsquo;t just something I enjoy; it&rsquo;s something I&rsquo;m meant to do. From that point forward, I treated it seriously, investing in my craft, building my identity, and shaping my own platforms. 3. Your sound is often described as emotionally rich. How do you channel feeling into a live set and build that connection with a crowd? For me, emotion often starts with vocals. I&rsquo;m very selective about the vocal tracks I play, whether it&rsquo;s trance or melodic techno with subtle, haunting phrases. The voice carries vulnerability, and that creates an instant human connection. I build my sets like emotional waves. I start with atmosphere, then introduce vocals at the right moment to create a memory. I think in chapters, tension and release, depth and light, carefully aligning melodies, harmonics, and breakdowns so the journey feels natural and progressive. It&rsquo;s not just about energy. It&rsquo;s about intention and storytelling. When the crowd closes their eyes, sings along, or feels goosebumps, that&rsquo;s when you know the connection is real. 4. You&rsquo;re closely associated with trance and melodic techno. What first drew you to these genres, and how do they reflect who you are as an artist? Trance was my foundation. Producers like Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, and Alexander Popov taught me what emotional build-up truly means. Their music isn&rsquo;t just energetic, it&rsquo;s spiritual, uplifting, and powerful. Trance gave me discipline in structure and melody. Melodic techno later gave me space. It expanded my sonic palette, deeper atmospheres, darker textures, longer transitions. It allows me to blend emotional vocals with hypnotic grooves and gives me a wider range to take the audience on different journeys within the same set. Now, my sound sits between those worlds, emotional trance energy with cinematic melodic techno depth. 5. Projects like DeepWave and TranceMission feel immersive, almost cinematic. How do you approach crafting a musical journey rather than simply selecting tracks? When I craft DeepWave or TranceMission, I approach them as storytelling experiences. I select tracks not based on popularity, but on key, mood, vocal presence, and emotional weight, making sure every transition feels natural, especially when blending trance with melodic techno. TranceMission leans more into trance and melodic techno, focusing on emotional build-ups, powerful vocals, and uplifting climaxes. DeepWave, on the other hand, is where I explore wider realms, blending deep trance, house, tech, afro influences, and deep melodic sounds, all connected through melodic tension and atmosphere. Both projects are structured like a film, intro, build-up, peak, reflection, and resolution, designed to give the audience not just energy, but a complete journey. 6. Every artist faces challenges along the way. What have been some of the toughest moments in your journey, and how have they shaped your sound or mindset? I started playing back in 2010 and stayed deeply committed to trance until around 2015. It was my foundation and the sound that shaped me as an artist. But at one point, I decided to step away. Still, I couldn&rsquo;t stay away from music for long; it&rsquo;s part of who I am. That time away actually gave me perspective. When I came back, it was with a different mindset. I began exploring wider musical realms, melodic techno, deeper progressive sounds, and different textures, blending them with the trance foundation I&rsquo;ve always loved. One of the toughest lessons was learning to evolve without losing authenticity. Instead of chasing trends, I chose growth. How do you balance structure with spontaneity? When preparing DeepWave and TranceMission, track selection is both the hardest and the most exciting part. Choosing the right vocals, melodies, and energy levels to shape a journey requires precision and instinct. The right vocal at the right moment can define the entire experience, and that challenge keeps me constantly inspired to build new sets. I create a structured backbone, focusing on key transitions, emotional flow, and energy mapping, but I never lock myself into a rigid playlist. That preparation strengthens my live performances, giving me confidence and direction. 9. For aspiring DJs listening right now, what advice would you give on breaking into the scene and developing a distinctive sound? Focus on identity before popularity. Learn your craft deeply, mixing, phrasing, and harmonic transitions, but also ask yourself: what do you want people to feel when they hear your name? Don&rsquo;t rush visibility. Build taste, build discipline, build patience. Trends fade; identity lasts.

The National Council for Childhood and Motherhood has held its regular board meeting to review recent activities and discuss future initiatives aimed at protecting children and empowering girls, according to a statement posted on its official Facebook page.
At the start of the meeting, the council&rsquo;s president, Dr Sahar El-Sonbaty, congratulated board members Sara Aziz and Mai Zein El-Din, who were honoured by Entesar El-Sisi during the &ldquo;Egyptian Women: Icons of Success&rdquo; celebration, which recognises leading female role models in the country.
Dr El-Sonbaty praised the continued support of the First Lady in promoting women&rsquo;s roles across various sectors.
Expanding partnerships
The council highlighted ongoing collaboration with government bodies and civil society organisations to strengthen child protection efforts.
Initiatives such as &ldquo;Ward El-Kheir&rdquo;, in partnership with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, are linked to the national girls&rsquo; empowerment programme &ldquo;Dawwie&rdquo; and the Girls&rsquo; Health Programme, helping to expand opportunities for young girls.

Legislative efforts
The council also took part in a parliamentary Human Rights Committee meeting to discuss ways to combat child marriage.
Dr El-Sonbaty stressed the need for stronger legislation to criminalise all forms of involvement in child marriage and to close existing legal loopholes.
Digital safety and skills
Efforts to improve children&rsquo;s online safety were also discussed, including a roundtable with MPs and other stakeholders, informed by recommendations from the &ldquo;Our Digital Future&rdquo; camp organised in partnership with UNICEF.
Programmes such as &ldquo;Little Paramedic&rdquo;, run in collaboration with the Egyptian Red Crescent, provide children with first aid training. Other initiatives focus on mental and physical health, talent development and early childhood strategies.
Commitment to child rights
Dr El-Sonbaty praised the efforts of board members and reaffirmed the council&rsquo;s commitment to programmes that protect children and promote their rights, in line with Egypt&rsquo;s national development goals.

The dollar traded at EGP 53.57, down from EGP 54.50 in the previous session, reflecting a slight appreciation of the Egyptian pound.
The decline comes amid relatively subdued activity in the foreign exchange market, as trading remains calm compared to recent fluctuations.

Exchange Rates | Dollar Falls to EGP 53.57 as Egyptian Pound Strengthens — 1 April

Egypt is set to experience unstable weather conditions on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, with rain, strong winds and possible thunderstorms forecast across several governorates, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
Moderate to heavy rain is expected throughout the day in parts of Matrouh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta and Port Said, with thunderstorms likely at times.
Light to moderate rain is also forecast in North Sinai, which may become thundery and intensify later in the day. Conditions there are expected to worsen, with heavy rainfall continuing into Thursday morning.
Unstable weather may also affect other areas intermittently, including Gharbia, Menoufia, Sharqia, Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, the New Valley, the northern Red Sea governorate and South Sinai.
Winds of 30 to 50 km/h are forecast across most regions, with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h. These may raise sand and dust, reducing visibility to less than 500 metres in parts of the north-western coast, Upper and Lower Egypt, the Western Desert and the New Valley.
The EMA warned that thunderstorms could be accompanied by strong downdraft winds, further reducing visibility in some areas. Lightning and hail are also possible.
Flooding may occur in low-lying areas, and residents are advised to avoid standing under trees, billboards or unstable structures. Drivers are urged to slow down and take care on the roads.

The currency traded at EGP 54.50, up from EGP 54.05 in the previous session, marking a modest depreciation of the Egyptian pound.
The uptick comes amid relatively subdued activity in the foreign exchange market, as traders continue to track economic developments and shifts in demand for foreign currency.

Egypt is set to experience rising temperatures across the country, with warm conditions prevailing during the day in most regions, turning hot in Upper Egypt, while nights remain cold in many areas on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
Light to moderate rainfall is forecast in parts of the Western Desert, extending by evening to sections of the North Coast and the northern Nile Delta governorates. Showers may intensify at times, becoming heavy and thundery in areas such as Salloum, Marsa Matrouh, and Siwa.
Elsewhere, light rain is expected during the evening hours across parts of the southern Nile Delta, the Suez Canal cities, and areas of Greater Cairo. The rainfall may also extend to northern and central Upper Egypt, as well as parts of the northern Red Sea governorate.
Dust-raising winds are anticipated, with speeds ranging between 20 and 30 km/h across parts of the northwestern coast and the Western Desert. Gusts could reach between 40 and 50 km/h, with a probability of around 30%, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to below 1,000 metres in some areas.
Dust may also affect parts of Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the Suez Canal cities, and both northern and southern Upper Egypt during the day. The EMA has issued a warning over potential hazards linked to thunderstorms, noting that strong downdraft winds may significantly reduce visibility. There is also a risk of lightning strikes.
Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution, particularly in areas where visibility may be compromised.

Nahla Al Kordy has become the first Egyptian woman to participate in camel racing, encouraging Egyptian women not to stop dreaming. She believes that motherhood does not prevent women from achieving their dreams; in fact, it becomes their greatest source of strength and motivation. After training in camel racing for less than two months, Nahla participated in the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 on 14 February 2026. Motherhood is not an obstacle; it is a source of strength. My children were my greatest motivation. Balance came through discipline, time management, and understanding that pursuing my dream is also a message to them: that a person must be brave enough to live truthfully. I would drop them off at school, begin my training, and return before they did.

Egypt&rsquo;s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, has announced the launch of a nationwide medical and ambulance plan for Eid al-Fitr 2026, aimed at ensuring readiness across the health system during the holiday period.
The ministry said more than 700 government hospitals have increased emergency preparedness, with emergency departments and operating theatres functioning around the clock as travel and public gatherings rise.
Ambulance Services and Rapid Response
The plan includes enhanced deployment by the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, with around 3,000 ambulances operating across governorates and an additional 1,200 vehicles positioned at key locations.
Ambulances have been stationed near main roads, public squares, mosques, Eid prayer areas, parks, and other gathering points. Twenty-seven emergency rooms are linked to a central control centre to enable real-time monitoring and dispatch, while regional officials oversee high-traffic areas.

Focus on Major Roads
Authorities say priority has been given to major routes, including the coastal road between Damietta and Matrouh, the Cairo-Alexandria desert road, the agricultural road, as well as routes in South Sinai, the Red Sea, and Upper Egypt.
More than 600 fixed and mobile ambulance points have been deployed along these roads to allow rapid response to accidents.
Hospital Preparedness
Hospitals have also increased capacity in emergency and intensive care units. Around 250 facilities have been designated as primary referral centres on highways, supported by 54 rapid response teams for large-scale incidents.
Blood banks have been supplied with an additional 40,000 units, and medical stocks have been reinforced to meet potential demand.
Public Health Measures
The preventive medicine sector has intensified inspections of more than 35,000 food outlets, including sweet shops, restaurants, hotels, parks, and public transport hubs.
Around 1,200 inspection teams have been deployed to monitor compliance with health and safety standards.

Egypt’s Health Minister Hails Magdi Yacoub Foundation for Life-Saving Cardiac Work

Egypt&rsquo;s General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR) has granted full and preliminary accreditation to 32 health facilities across the country, according to decisions issued by the Supreme Committee for the Accreditation of Health Facilities.
The move is part of efforts to strengthen quality and patient safety standards in line with internationally recognised benchmarks set by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua).
Officials say the accreditations aim to improve the efficiency of healthcare institutions and prepare them for integration into Egypt&rsquo;s Universal Health Insurance system, which seeks to expand access to safe and high-quality medical services nationwide.
As part of preparations for the system&rsquo;s second phase, Minya Governorate is expected to be among the first areas to implement the programme. The Supreme Committee renewed preliminary accreditation for Minya Oncology Center and granted preliminary accreditation to several hospitals in the governorate, including Samalut Oncology Hospital, El Adwa Central Hospital and Mallawi Liver and Gastroenterology Hospital.
The General Military Hospital in Alexandria, affiliated with the Armed Forces Medical Services, also received preliminary accreditation in accordance with GAHAR standards, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen quality and patient safety in healthcare delivery.
Officials say the latest accreditations represent another step in Egypt&rsquo;s broader strategy to standardise healthcare services, improve patient outcomes and prepare facilities for nationwide implementation of the Universal Health Insurance system.

Egypt&rsquo;s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has launched the first field phase of its national campaign to vaccinate and sterilize stray dogs, starting in the Ain Shams district of Cairo, in a move aimed at protecting public health and addressing the stray dog issue through sustainable and humane measures. The campaign is part of the national strategy &ldquo;Rabies-Free Egypt 2030&rdquo; and reflects a clear policy shift from short-term crisis management to science-based, long-term solutions. Ain Shams was chosen as the starting point due to repeated public complaints and the need for early intervention to reduce health risks associated with rabies.

For years, fibromyalgia was that invisible ghost of pain that people whispered about but never really understood. That changed when Montahy Al Salahya&mdash;Farrag&rsquo;s Ramadan series&mdash;threw it into the mainstream, finally showing the exhaustion, confusion and daily battle of living with a condition that has no obvious scars. It was raw, relatable and sparked the question millions have quietly asked: what is&nbsp;fibromyalgia?
 And now, for the first time in nearly 15 years, there&rsquo;s an answer that feels hopeful. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Tonmya&nbsp;(cyclobenzaprine HCl sublingual tablets), the first new treatment for fibromyalgia since the late 2000s. Unlike older medications that only offered partial relief, this one&rsquo;s non-opioid, placed under the tongue and taken at bedtime&mdash;targeting both chronic pain and sleep disruption, two of the condition&rsquo;s most frustrating hallmarks.
 Clinical trials showed promising results: participants reported a 30 percent or greater drop in pain levels, and their sleep noticeably improved. Sure, side-effects like drowsiness and numbness appeared, but they were mild compared to what patients have endured on previous treatments.
 But let&rsquo;s be honest&mdash;it&rsquo;s not a miracle cure. Fibromyalgia is complex. It messes with sleep, focus, mood and the nervous system all at once. Tonmya&nbsp;may not end the fight, but it finally feels like medicine is taking this battle seriously. The drug is expected to hit pharmacies by late 2025, and when it does, it could redefine what hope looks like for millions living in quiet pain.
 For once, the conversation about fibromyalgia isn&rsquo;t being spoken over&nbsp;patients&mdash;it&rsquo;s being spoken with&nbsp;them.

In line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi&rsquo;s directives, Egypt is intensifying efforts to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into education through expanded international cooperation with Japan, new training programs, and curriculum reforms.
Training Teachers and &ldquo;Ambassadors of Development&rdquo; The initiative will prioritize training computer science teachers, supervisors, subject advisors, and members of the technology development team&mdash;known as the &ldquo;Ambassadors of Development.&rdquo; This training is part of Egypt&ndash;Japan cooperation aimed at strengthening digital education.
Opportunities for Outstanding Students Exceptional students from governorates across Egypt will be selected to participate in specialized training sessions with leading Japanese companies via video conferencing. Preparing Teachers and Infrastructure The Minister emphasized that well-trained teachers and specialists are essential to the success of this transformation. Efforts are also underway to strengthen technological infrastructure, including the development of specialized labs, to fully support AI integration into schools.
