NileFM sits down with Samy El Sakka to explore his journey, from growing up in Spain to returning to Egypt, where his connection to music deepened into a refined understanding of rhythm, emotion, and visual narrative elements that now define every mix he creates.
1. Samy, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you started your journey as a DJ? I grew up in Spain before moving back to Egypt, and started as a music lover before anything else, digging for tracks, building playlists, and trying to understand how different sounds affect people&rsquo;s moods. Traveling all over the world and hearing different sets and sounds from many different artists inspired me to dig deeper into it and start developing my own sound. What began as a hobby slowly turned into late-night practice sessions, small gatherings, and eventually clubs and studios. Over time, DJing became my main creative outlet and a way to tell stories through sound.

How does your visual sense influence the way you choose or mix your tracks? When I mix, I imagine colors, moods, and movement the same way I frame a shot. It helps me build sets that feel cinematic, not random. I think in scenes and colors when I mix. A track can feel &ldquo;dark,&rdquo; &ldquo;warm,&rdquo; &ldquo;wide,&rdquo; or &ldquo;minimal,&rdquo; just like a photograph. That helps me create smoother transitions and emotional flow. I don&rsquo;t just think about BPM or key; I think about what kind of picture the sound is painting.

They feel more honest and personal because the music reflects exactly where I was mentally and creatively. One of my favorites is Sam &amp; Chill Vol. I or II. It captured a very honest moment in my life, calm, reflective, but still hopeful. It wasn&rsquo;t about impressing anyone technically; it was about feeling something real, and people connected with that. 4. Behind every set, there&rsquo;s a story. Can you take us behind the scenes of one of your most memorable live performances? One of my most memorable sets was when the crowd and I connected instantly. I changed my planned tracklist, which I worked on for, like, weeks before, halfway because I felt a different energy, and the room transformed. It reminded me that DJing is about listening as much as playing. 5. How do you balance creating music that energizes the crowd with your personal artistic vision? I treat it like a conversation. I listen to the crowd, but I don&rsquo;t let go of my identity. Sometimes I meet them where they are; sometimes I lead them somewhere new. The balance is respecting their energy while still telling my story. 6. NileFM listeners love surprises. Are there any special moments or sets you&rsquo;ve prepared for them recently that you can tease? I&rsquo;ve been working on deeper, more melodic, different genres, and sets recently, still danceable, but more emotional and cinematic. I like to keep details secret, but listeners can expect something a little different from the usual formula and more out of the ordinary than expected. 7. Afro House and Tech are big parts of your style. What draws you to these genres, and how do you decide which tracks fit together? Afro House is a vibe and a true definition of how the sound can evolve over the years, However tech for me gives me structure, drive, rhythm, and most importantly, the groove. Together, they create a perfect balance between emotion and movement. I choose tracks that speak the same &ldquo;language,&rdquo; which is based on feeling first, even if they come from different places. 8. As someone who appreciates good visuals, do you ever plan your sets to create a &ldquo;visual journey&rdquo; for your audience? Yes, always. I think of my sets as a journey from darkness to light, from calm to intensity, just like a visual story. I imagine the night like a short film: an introduction, rising action, peak, and a calm ending. Lighting, mood, and even how people move become part of that story. That's why I always urge my friends to listen to my sets without pauses, breaks, or any disturbances, just one go on one journey. 9. Your fans follow your mixes online, like &ldquo;Sam &amp; Chill Vol XXIII.&rdquo; How do you keep each volume fresh and unique while maintaining your signature sound? I never force it. Each volume reflects where I am at that moment, what I&rsquo;m listening to, what I&rsquo;m feeling, and what inspires me. The signature sound stays, but the emotions change. I let my life influence each volume. New emotions, new experiences, new sounds. The signature stays, but the mood evolves. It&rsquo;s like a new storyline of my life each time with a new plot, characters, and feelings that reflect on the music, if that makes sense.

Today, as the 57th edition opened under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly inaugurating the event, Culture Minister Ahmed Fouad Hanno and several Arab and foreign officials in attendance, the fair continues to celebrate knowledge, culture, and creativity. Running from January 21 to February 3 at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center, the fair features 1,457 publishers from 83 countries and 6,637 exhibitors, the largest edition in its history. Romania is this year&rsquo;s guest of honor, and the program includes 400 cultural and intellectual events, 100 book signings, and 120 artistic activities. For comic book fans, one name stands out: Khalid Essafty. Celebrated for his iconic series &ldquo;Flash Adventures,&rdquo; &ldquo;Smash,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Super Smash,&rdquo; Essafty has captivated generations with his unique blend of humor, cultural insight, and social commentary. Over his career, he has created more than 80 distinctive characters, inspiring a new generation of readers and artists alike. NileFM caught up with Essafty to talk about his journey, the magic of the Cairo Book Fair, and what makes Flash resonate across generations. Do you enjoy caricature, writing, and drawing&hellip;? Can you share with us your childhood memories of the Book Fair? What impressed you the most when you were a kid attending it? When I was a child, the Book Fair was held every year at the Exhibition Grounds in Zamalek, not in Nasr City. It was very close to the Nile, and the space wasn&rsquo;t very large. All the halls were inside a big building, so it was extremely crowded. This was during the 1970s. Back then, I used to look for &ldquo;Tenten&rsquo; before it became a magazine; it was a book that included some of the heroes I loved.

What&rsquo;s the first thing you do, and how do you achieve the look and psychological depth of each character? I don&rsquo;t really have stages or steps. My hand works according to what&rsquo;s in my mind and what I&rsquo;m thinking. This makes the character more spontaneous, and the psychological depth and visual form that fit the character&rsquo;s traits come out naturally. Can you tell us how the &ldquo;Flash&rdquo; series looked in the beginning? What was its style, and how were the stories structured? In the beginning, the &ldquo;Flash&rdquo; series was like the social media of the &lsquo;90s, because there wasn&rsquo;t any other entertainment except TV and radio. Flash achieved huge success and attracted large crowds. The &ldquo;Flash&rdquo; series reached the top of the best-sellers list. In your opinion, what is the secret behind its success among a new generation of readers? Of course, the secret of its success is that it was relatable to young people. It was a way to educate while being close to the youth. Your works have been well-known for a long time, but now a new generation is reading your books and getting to know your characters. Do you feel there&rsquo;s a difference in how they interact with Flash or comics in general compared to previous generations? I hope the new generation gets closer to &ldquo;Flash,&rdquo; because it corrects all the mistakes that might be spread on social media and filters out wrong ideas they could be exposed to. Some people today are talking about artificial intelligence in drawing and writing&hellip; what&rsquo;s your opinion on this, as a writer and artist? Artificial intelligence is a frightening revolution that could reach a stage where we can&rsquo;t distinguish between real voices or images. This will create many problems. To me, it is more important than technology itself. Depending on how well people master it, they could make it believable.

I wait for it every year. I love meeting the new generations and seeing mothers, fathers, grandmothers, and children who are fans of Flash magazine. This is very special to me. You mentioned that &ldquo;Flash heroes will greet the audience throughout the fair.&rdquo; This year, what&rsquo;s different about "Flash"? You promised many surprises&hellip; can you give us a small hint? This year, there&rsquo;s a unique surprise: pocket-sized Egyptian novels, which used to be alongside the famous school textbooks, will now have a separate pavilion. The exhibition hall will be bigger, and there will be youth and authors joining. Is there a chance we&rsquo;ll see a new caricature work from you during Ramadan? Unfortunately, not this year, but I&rsquo;ll try next year. If you were to choose a character from your works to turn into a cartoon series, which one would it be, and why? I won&rsquo;t choose, because I&rsquo;ve already adapted all the Flash heroes into a 60-episode series that was shown on a platform in the Gulf. I know the audience is excited to watch it. Is there a new character you haven&rsquo;t introduced yet that we might see soon? I don&rsquo;t think so, because I&rsquo;ve already portrayed all types of society, which evolve from generation to generation according to social events. I have many characters, around 80 in total.

NileFM sat down with Sherif Osama to dive deeper into his journey, his philosophy of doing what he loves, and the musical identity that makes listeners want to follow him.
Let&rsquo;s start with an introduction. Who is Sherif Osama, and how would you describe your musical identity as a DJ? I&rsquo;m Sherif, and I just joined the 40&rsquo;s club. I worked in the tourism sector, marketing and advertising, and now I&rsquo;m working in hospitality and nightlife. I manage a club. Well, about my musical identity, I would describe it as diverse. I love playing all kinds of electronic music. I like to mix genres and play different styles to make things more exciting. I think it would be difficult to classify my musical identity into one genre; it&rsquo;s a mix of genres.

I was always digging for new music and old music, and I just played it to myself and my friends and kept doing that until I realized that I have to open up about my DJing and start sharing my musical journey with people who share the same passion as I do. Can you take us behind the scenes of one of your favorite sets? What goes into building the perfect vibe? It was a random set I went to a friend&rsquo;s party one time, and I wasn&rsquo;t prepared at all. I only had my USB stick with me, no headphones, and I managed to play a 4-hour set, which I believe was one of my favorite sets! To build the perfect vibe, I think you have to read the crowd and be prepared with music that fits the party to be prepared and read the crowd mainly. Music taste is very personal. How do you decide what makes it into a Sherif Osama set? I always play what I love, so when I listen to a track that I really like, I try to imagine it with other tracks I like, so eventually when it&rsquo;s time to play, I already have a list of tracks I like, so I play them and mix them all together, hoping the outcome is good. Most of the time I&rsquo;m happy with the outcome.

What surprises have you prepared this week for NileFM listeners? Anything exclusive we should watch out for? Unreleased track from Maxim DB. He&rsquo;s a French DJ and producer, and the track is called James Bond. It&rsquo;s a house track with an Arabic twist. I just loved it when I heard it. Is there a particular track, genre, or moment in your sets that you feel really represents you as an artist? I think all of my music represents me. As I said, I play all kinds of stuff, and I mix genres. Every track I play almost represents me. What has been the biggest challenge you&rsquo;ve faced so far in your DJ journey, and how did you overcome it? I think the biggest challenge is to stay positive and stay away from negative people and focus on what you love. For me, music always makes me feel better and has always helped me in overcoming a lot of stuff in life. What&rsquo;s next for you after this week on NileFM? Any upcoming projects or goals you&rsquo;re excited about? Currently I&rsquo;m working in a club in Sharm el-Sheikh, which is very exciting. Hopefully, to get more bookings in the near future. Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring DJs who are just starting and hoping to make their mark? Enjoy what you are doing, don&rsquo;t stress about it, and have faith and don&rsquo;t give up, and keep doing what you love and don&rsquo;t let anyone put you down.

 Let&rsquo;s start from the beginning. When did you first feel drawn to acting, and why did you choose this path? Since I was a child, my eyes would light up whenever I watched movies on TV or in the cinema. That world felt very far away from me, but I was always fascinated by it. I decided to start with commercials because I wanted to be on TV like the girls I used to see. I searched, attended casting calls, and tried to understand what a &ldquo;location&rdquo; even meant. I did many commercials, then started auditioning for acting roles. After some time, director Karim El Shenawy chose me and gave me my first real opportunity.

At first, I was scared. Then I became very excited because I loved the world of the project and really wanted to work with Mr. Karim. The entire cast included actors I admire. Yes, the role is sensitive, but it&rsquo;s also part of a unique and special project.
How did you build the character and the accent, especially since it&rsquo;s different from you? I love traveling because it helps me collect characters in my head. Egypt is full of cultures. I had traveled to Fayoum during Ramadan, and shortly after that, I was asked to do an audition that required a slightly rural accent. From there, it was all about studying and preparation. I still feel I need to learn more accents and cultures.
<a href="https://ibb.co/Gfb1Rfvp"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/kVWrXVgB/2.png" alt="2" border="0" /></a> What about the character&rsquo;s look and styling? The stylist, Ghadeer, is brilliant. She gave me space to suggest details myself, like using black henna on my hands, for example.
Were you afraid the accent or the character wouldn&rsquo;t turn out as you imagined? I was terrified. I always tell myself that one day I&rsquo;ll get the accent right, and another day I won&rsquo;t. I kept listening closely to how people speak and paying attention to their expressions and rhythms.

Many things: Mr. Karim&rsquo;s encouragement, the chance to work with great artists and stars I admire, and simply my love for the role itself. Your leg injury became a big part of the story behind this role. Can you tell us about that? I had a severe ligament injury before anyone even contacted me. Despite that, I insisted on doing the audition while wearing a cast and standing on one leg. I was literally hopping; it was very risky, and I wasn&rsquo;t even supposed to leave the house. All thanks go to Mr. Karim for believing in me, to Mody Shaheen for nominating me, and to the Frame team who always supported me.

The Colombian dress scene was improvised. I asked my director if I could say it, and he agreed. Taha Desouky and Ali Sobhy were incredibly supportive and cooperative.

Any love I receive from people truly motivates me. What advice would you give to actresses just starting out? Don&rsquo;t lose hope too quickly when facing repeated attempts. Sometimes, when everything feels closed, that&rsquo;s exactly when you need to keep going. And always stay flexible with how life changes.

Away from the decks, I&rsquo;m a curious person who&rsquo;s always been deeply connected to music. As an artist, I&rsquo;d describe myself as someone who focuses on emotional energy and storytelling through music. My style blends melodic depth with uplifting drive. Melodies play a big role in my tracks because they help me tell stories through music and create journeys people can genuinely feel and connect with.
When did your journey into DJing begin, and can you recall the moment you realized it was becoming more than just a hobby?
My journey into DJing began after I listened to a Year Mix in 2013 as I remember for the first time. I was fascinated by how all these different tracks blended together so smoothly, and I became curious about the craft behind it how transitions work, how energy flows, and how a story is built through music. That curiosity pushed me to start learning more about mixing, with the help and guidance of a few close friends who were already in the scene.
The moment I realized it was more than a hobby was when people I didn&rsquo;t personally know began connecting with my music, sharing how it made them feel. That was when I understood this was something I wanted to commit to on a deeper level.
What was it about DJing that truly drew you in? Was there a particular sound, experience, or artist that sparked that connection?
What drew me in was the emotional side of DJing. There&rsquo;s something magical about controlling the flow of energy on the stage, building tension, releasing emotion, and seeing people respond to the vibe in real time. That hits different; it&rsquo;s a language without words.
I&rsquo;ve always been deeply connected to melodic trance music, and I love introducing it to the crowd and seeing how much they enjoy experiencing it live.
Particular artist? I&rsquo;d say Armin van Buuren played a huge role in inspiring me. I grew up watching him shape the trance scene for decades and host unforgettable events around the world. He definitely sparked something in me and motivated me to start DJing.
How did you come to define your musical identity? Did your style develop organically over time, or was it shaped by specific influences and experiences?&nbsp;
My style developed very organically. Over time, through listening, experimenting, and playing different sets, my identity slowly became clearer. Of course, experiences and certain moments shaped it, but I never forced a specific direction it naturally found its way.&nbsp;

You&rsquo;ve been named NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week. What does this recognition represent for you at this point in your career?
This is actually my fourth time being named Nile FM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week, and it remains a very meaningful milestone for me every single time.
I grew up listening to NileFM I still remember studying for my high school exams with the station playing in my ears all the way. It has always been a part of my daily life and my early connection to music.
So having my music and sets featured on the same radio station I grew up listening to carries a very special meaning. It feels both nostalgic and motivating, a reminder of how far my journey has come, and an encouragement to keep pushing forward and evolving as an artist.
Every creative journey comes with its challenges. What have been some of the biggest obstacles you&rsquo;ve faced, and how have they shaped you as a DJ?
One of the biggest challenges I&rsquo;ve faced throughout my journey has been balancing my full-time career as an engineer with my passion for DJing.
Engineering is a demanding field and requires a lot of time, focus, and responsibility, and that naturally made it difficult at times to fully commit to music the way I wished to. DJing has always been more of a passion than a profession for me, so finding the right balance between both worlds wasn&rsquo;t always easy.
But this challenge shaped me in a positive way. It taught me discipline, patience, and how to manage my time more intentionally. It also made me value every opportunity I get in music even more because whenever I step behind the decks, I know I&rsquo;m doing it out of pure love for the craft.
Is there a set you particularly enjoy performing? What makes it special to you, and is there a story or moment linked to it that still resonates?&nbsp;
Yes, one of the sets that will always stay special to me was a performance I played in Hurghada.
What made it memorable is that everything happened very spontaneously. The opportunity came suddenly, and I wasn&rsquo;t fully prepared for it in advance, but once I started playing, everything just flowed naturally. The set turned out great, the energy felt right, and the crowd was truly enjoying the music.
It was one of those moments where you feel completely connected to the people and the atmosphere around you. We shared a really beautiful time together, and that experience still resonates with me today.
When you&rsquo;re building a set, how much is planned, and how much is guided by the energy of the crowd in the moment?
I usually prepare a general direction and musical story beforehand, key transitions, mood progression, and certain tracks I know will anchor the set. But a big part of it remains flexible and guided by the crowd&rsquo;s energy. Reading the room is essential. Sometimes the moment calls for more intensity, sometimes for deeper emotion, and that spontaneity is what keeps every set unique.
Where do you find inspiration today? Whether through music, personal experiences, or other artists, what continues to fuel your creativity?
For me Inspiration comes from many places. Music itself, life experiences, emotions, travel, conversations, and mostly quiet reflective moments.
I&rsquo;m also inspired by other artists who push creative boundaries, as well as by the support from listeners and communities who connect with my tracks and sets. That connection continues to fuel my creativity.

My biggest advice to upcoming DJs is: have your own style.
Nowadays, a lot of music can sound very similar, so your sound is what makes you stand out. Don&rsquo;t just follow trends, build a musical identity that truly reflects who you are. Work on improving your mixes, your transitions, and your track selections, because quality always finds its way to the right ears.
And most importantly, be patient. Great things don&rsquo;t happen overnight unless you&rsquo;re really lucky, in which case please tell me your secret

On The Big Drive with Sami and Nadine, NileFM welcomed Mr. Keith Waters, Commissioner and Chairman of the MENA Golf Tour, alongside Mr. Omar Talaat, Chairman of the Egyptian Golf Federation, for an in-depth conversation about the future of golf in Egypt and across the wider MENA region.
From global rankings and Olympic qualification pathways to golf tourism, youth development, and Egypt&rsquo;s emergence as a winter hub for international tournaments, the discussion revealed how the sport is evolving faster than many might expect.

So, Keith, first question for you. For viewers tuning in across Egypt and the region, give us the headline first, what is the MENA Golf Tour, and why does it matter in today&rsquo;s professional game?
Keith: In today&rsquo;s professional game, the MENA Golf Tour has actually been relaunched only at the end of last year. It did exist before, starting back in 2013. It is primarily for local golfers to showcase their talents on a global platform. There has been a huge contingent of international players attracted to North Africa and the Middle East, which is where the MENA letters come from. It was hugely successful until COVID, when travel issues affected the Tour. The relaunch has been very successful, with a large number of international players. If I am correct, we have 12 Egyptian players in the field tomorrow morning. It gives talented young players from the local region the opportunity to showcase their skills, compete with very experienced professional golfers, and receive world ranking points, which gives them a platform to progress.
Mr. Omar, when people hear &lsquo;golf&rsquo;, they don&rsquo;t usually think of fast growth or excitement. What&rsquo;s really happening in golf in Egypt right now?
Omar: Let me start with something that surprises most people. Golf in Egypt is currently one of the fastest-growing sports ecosystems in the country. I do not mean participation only, but growth in many different terms: tourism, media exposure, and international relevance. It is all happening at the same time. For years, golf in Egypt existed quietly in the background. We enjoyed beautiful courses and perfect weather, but we had very little visibility.
One of the Tour&rsquo;s biggest strengths is that it offers Official World Golf Ranking points. In simple terms, why are those points so crucial for a young professional trying to climb the ladder?
Keith: If a player performs well in a World Ranking, approved event, which all our MENA Tour events are, they receive points and are ranked globally alongside the best professional golfers in the world. The American and European Tours feature the top players, but rankings allow you to quickly calibrate where you stand. These rankings are also used to qualify players for the Olympics. For example, the best Egyptian player, even if ranked around 300th globally, can still represent Egypt at the Olympics. That is just one example of how rankings help players progress and measure themselves against the world&rsquo;s best.
For people listening who don&rsquo;t play golf at all, what can you tell them about this event that could pique their interest and help them understand its importance?
Omar: First of all, as Keith explained, we get significant international exposure. One notable outcome is that when international tours approve our courses in Egypt, it is a major stamp of approval. We have some of the most beautiful courses in the world and perfect weather. This visibility helps present Egypt to the global golfing community.
We&rsquo;ve seen players use this exact pathway to reach the very top, names like Matt Fitzpatrick and Robert MacIntyre. How important are those success stories when motivating today&rsquo;s players?
Keith: They are absolutely crucial. Many world-class players talk about how they followed local or televised players who inspired them to take up the game. As youngsters, players copy their idols, from technique to equipment. These success stories are hugely inspirational and motivate young players to practice, compete, and improve.
This all seems to have accelerated very quickly. Why now? What changed over the last year?
Omar: What is happening today is not accidental. It is the result of a complete reset. When the new federation took office over 14 months ago, we asked a simple question: why isn&rsquo;t Egypt visible internationally in a sport where we should naturally lead? We have perfect winter weather, championship courses, direct flights, and over a hundred years of golf history. That question changed everything and marked the beginning of this transformation.
Bringing it closer to home, what does the MENA Golf Tour offer Egyptian golfers specifically that perhaps didn&rsquo;t exist 10 or 15 years ago?
Keith: It offers the opportunity to compete against experienced international players. Younger players learn by competing in the same arena, while also gaining ranking points through the MENA Tour and the Official World Golf Ranking. Both pathways help players progress. It is a combination of learning and long-term development.
A lot of sports talk about plans and visions, what did you actually change on the ground to ensure it grows in popularity and success?
Omar: The first thing we focused on was governance and financial discipline. In under seven months, we reversed years of operating deficits and moved the federation into a financial surplus. That surplus was reinvested into juniors, national teams, and coaching. We brought in an experienced British coach to help develop players, referees, and international events. Participation has grown by 30 percent, casual participation has more than doubled, and golf is becoming a public sport again.
This season includes a dedicated Egyptian Swing made up of four events. Why is that structure so appealing for players?
Keith: Players can compete in four tournaments in a short period with only one flight. They experience a country with variety, tradition, and high-quality courses. The events offer prize money, world ranking points, and efficient travel between venues, making it highly attractive for international professionals.
Was there a specific moment where you realized this had gone international?
Omar: Towards the end of last year was the real turning point. In four consecutive weeks, Egypt hosted four major international championships across men&rsquo;s, ladies&rsquo;, juniors, and professionals. These events were globally televised and streamed online, reaching over 15 million viewers worldwide.
When international players come here to compete, how important is that exposure beyond professional golf?
Keith: Golf tourism is extremely valuable. Golfers travel, stay longer, spend more, and often return if they enjoy the experience. This makes golf a powerful driver of tourism and economic growth.
What did that level of international exposure actually changes for Egypt?
Omar: It changed how tours, sponsors, and players view Egypt. It proved that Egypt can host international-standard events, reach a global audience, and deliver a commercially viable product.
What would you say to someone listening right now who&rsquo;s never tried golf?
Keith: Go to a golf club, speak to a local professional, and start with proper guidance. Early technique makes a huge difference.
Omar: Join the momentum. Golf in Egypt is back, aligned with the country&rsquo;s ambition and global positioning. This is only the beginning.

Cairo recorded a high of 18&deg;C on Tuesday, 20 January, as cooler conditions spread southwards. The EMA said very cold weather is expected during the early morning hours, particularly in inland areas.
Daytime conditions will be mildly cold in northern parts of the country, while southern regions are expected to remain mild to warm. Temperatures are forecast to fall again at night, bringing very cold conditions to most areas.
Frost is likely to form on crops in parts of Northern Upper Egypt, Central Sinai and the Western Desert, raising concerns for farmers.
There is a chance of light rainfall in some areas, though it is not expected to have a significant impact. Low-level cloud cover may also appear.

Because the atmosphere scatters blue light and lets red light pass through, the moon takes on a dramatic reddish glow; the same effect that makes sunrises and sunsets look red. Dust or clouds can make the color appear even deeper.
Where to Watch
The eclipse will be visible across Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, and parts of South America. Viewers in North America, however, will only catch partial phases of the event.

In a rare astronomical phenomenon, Earth is completing its rotation today, Tuesday, 22nd July, in less than 24 hours&mdash;making it the shortest day ever recorded in human history. The planet will spin 1.34 milliseconds faster than the standard 86,400 seconds, surpassing the previous record set just two weeks ago on 9th July.
Although the difference is imperceptible to most, scientists say it reflects a puzzling trend in Earth&rsquo;s rotational behaviour. If this acceleration continues, global timekeepers may need to subtract a second from atomic clocks by 2029&mdash;a historic adjustment known as a &ldquo;negative leap second&rdquo; that has never been implemented before.&nbsp;
Experts remain uncertain about the root cause of the acceleration. Theories range from shifts in the Earth's molten core and melting glaciers to atmospheric changes and a weakening magnetic field. For centuries, the Earth has been gradually slowing due to the moon&rsquo;s tidal pull. But new data from NASA suggest we may have reached a phase of orbital equilibrium, unexpectedly speeding up the planet&rsquo;s rotation.
Geologists and astrophysicists are closely monitoring the development, as it could affect everything from satellite navigation to global timekeeping systems in the near future.
