<p>Two friends, one passion for sound. Meet Twinkeys, the rising Egyptian DJ and production duo made up of Ahmed Gadou and Kareem Khalifa. Mixing Afro House, Afro Tech, and Melodic Techno, their friendship turned into a creative partnership that&rsquo;s now making waves on NileFM.</p>
<p>Catch Twinkeys tonight at 10 PM as NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week. They&rsquo;ll share their story, talk about their musical journey, and drop an exclusive one-hour mix featuring their upcoming release with Loxivice.</p>
<p><strong>Could you please introduce yourselves to our listeners and tell us a bit about Twinkeys?</strong><br />We&rsquo;re Twinkeys, a DJ &amp; music producer duo from Egypt, made up of Ahmed Gadou and Kareem Khalifa. We&rsquo;re both based in Maadi, and our sound blends Afro House, Afro Tech, and Melodic Techno.<br /><strong>How did you both meet and decide to form a duo?</strong><br />Gadou: I was studying in Malaysia and used to post mixes. Khalifa, who was producing in Egypt, listened to them. One day, he found out I&rsquo;m a cousin of his friend Seif Tamer&mdash;Seif connected us when I returned to Cairo, and that&rsquo;s when Twinkeys was born.<br />Khalifa: Yeah, he taught me how to DJ. I taught him production&mdash;that was late 2019, and we&rsquo;ve been growing ever since.</p>
<p><a href="https://ibb.co/rRjp28MM"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/9kD4HK22/1.png" alt="1" border="0" /></a><br /><strong>How did your passion for music and DJing begin? Any early influences?</strong><br />Gadou: Ever since I was a kid, I&rsquo;d stand next to the DJ at every birthday party. At 12, I got my first Radio Shack 4-channel mixer and started experimenting. My early inspirations were Martin Garrix, Ti&euml;sto, Armin van Buuren, and Arrab has a special place; his music just hits differently.<br />Khalifa: I was 8 at my uncle&rsquo;s wedding when I first saw a DJ booth. The DJ left for a minute, so I grabbed the headphones&mdash;and from that moment I couldn&rsquo;t stop thinking about it. My influences were DJ Khaled, Nicolas Jaar, David August, and Hassan El Shafei.</p>
<p><a href="https://ibb.co/7dDrm8HG"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/0RLYb8kf/3.png" alt="3" border="0" /></a><br /><strong>You mentioned Nile FM has always been a favorite station. Can you tell us why it&rsquo;s so special to you?</strong><br />Gadou: We both grew up listening to Nile FM, especially the trance nights on Thursdays. My dad used to enjoy those shows a lot, so it&rsquo;s full of nostalgia for us.</p>
<p><strong>What inspired you to participate in the &ldquo;DJ of the Week&rdquo; show?</strong><br />It&rsquo;s an honor to be featured on one of the best FM stations in Egypt and beyond. We&rsquo;re proud to represent Egyptian DJs and producers and show what we can bring to the scene.<br /><strong>How does it feel to share a mix with millions of Nile FM listeners?</strong><br />It feels unreal&mdash;knowing that people across Egypt and the world are listening. The mix is a journey, and each listener shapes it in their own way&mdash;that&rsquo;s the beauty of music.</p>

<p><br /><strong>Can you take us through your creative process when crafting a mix?</strong><br />Khalifa: We usually start with a mood and let the music flow naturally from there. Gadou: We&rsquo;re in it together every step&mdash;though sometimes I sneak in a few track picks (laughs).</p>
<p><strong>How do you choose tracks to include in a set? Are there certain moods or themes you aim for?</strong><br />It always starts with the mood&mdash;we feel it first, then build the journey around that energy.<br /><strong>Are there any particular challenges you faced as a music duo? How did you overcome them?</strong><br />Gadou: Creative blocks and differences of opinion&mdash;they happen.<br />Khalifa: But we always find common ground and push forward. Respect and balance keep us moving.<br /><strong>Twinkeys has some collaborations in your mix&mdash;why is collaboration important?</strong><br />Collaboration means growth. We&rsquo;ve been working closely with Loxivice&mdash;he&rsquo;s got some serious sauce! Beyond music, he&rsquo;s a close friend, and that energy shows in our sound.</p>

We listen to everything, experiment a lot, and keep learning from each set and studio session.<br /><strong>Who or what keeps you motivated during challenging times?</strong><br />Gadou: The dream of doing music full-time&mdash;that&rsquo;s our biggest motivation. Khalifa: Exactly&mdash;music is our life. That&rsquo;s all we want to do.<br /><strong>What advice would you give to aspiring DJs who want to follow a similar path?</strong><br />Khalifa: Start small but stay consistent. Learn every day, practice a lot, and never compare yourself to others.<br />Gadou: And most importantly&mdash;enjoy the journey. Let the music lead you.</p>
