Global electronic music phenomenon ARGY is bringing his NEWORLD experience to one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, the Pyramids of Giza, on Friday, 6 November 2026, with a specially designed show paying homage to Egyptian culture.
Ahead of the highly anticipated performance, ARGY joined Zeinab and Sami on Nile FM’s The Big Drive for an exclusive interview, discussing the inspiration behind choosing the Pyramids as the setting for NEWORLD, his personal connection to Egypt, and the influence of Egyptian and Middle Eastern music on his creative journey.
Following Anima’s landmark performance earlier this year, the upcoming show promises to transform the historic site into an immersive musical and visual experience, bringing together ancient heritage and contemporary electronic music.
Asked why he chose the Pyramids of Giza for NEWORLD, ARGY explained that the concept goes beyond music.
“NEWORLD is about creating experiences that go beyond music and bringing together different cultures and people. It’s also about connecting the past and the future,” he said.
The Greek DJ and producer also spoke about his personal connection to Egypt, highlighting the longstanding cultural ties between Greece and Egypt, particularly in Alexandria, where Greek communities lived, worked and contributed to the city’s cultural identity.
Reflecting on this shared history, ARGY described Egypt as a place that feels familiar to him, adding that the cultural exchange between the two countries has influenced his appreciation of Egyptian music.
When asked whether Egyptian music had shaped his creative journey, he revealed that he had long been drawn to Arabic melodies and oriental musical scales.
“I really like a lot of Egyptian music. I love Hamid El Shaeri,” he said, naming the Egyptian singer as one of his favourites and highlighting “Ouda” as a particular favourite.
He also explained that his interest in regional sounds extends beyond Egypt, pointing to musical influences from Turkey, Tunisia and Morocco.
According to ARGY, oriental scales and melodies have found their way into his music since the early stages of his career. He recalled producing “Last Night in Lebanon” when he was just 18, noting that its melody already carried influences associated with the region.
Discussing how the upcoming Pyramids performance will differ from his previous shows, ARGY emphasised the extensive creative and production work behind NEWORLD.
Unlike some of his previous performances, the Pyramids show has been meticulously planned over several months, with ARGY and his team overseeing every detail, from the lighting and laser effects to the visual elements and overall stage design.
He described the opportunity to bring his creative vision to such an extraordinary setting as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, explaining that he wants to make the most of it.
As preparations continue, ARGY revealed that everything is going according to plan, although he admitted that the smooth process has made him slightly nervous.
He also explained that he has been particularly focused on getting every detail right, given how rare an opportunity it is to perform at the Pyramids of Giza.
“I want to finish the show, and who knows when I can do this show again in my life, maybe never. So I just want to get this right,” he said.
With NEWORLD approaching, ARGY is preparing to deliver an experience that celebrates the meeting of cultures, music and history at one of Egypt’s most recognisable landmarks.
