Sam Smith attended the 2022 Pioneer Dinner&nbsp;at the&nbsp;Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, which honored Barbara Broccoli and&nbsp;Michael G. Wilson and celebrated 60 years of James Bond.
While on the red carpet, Smith spoke with ET about his upcoming single, "Unholy," a part of which has already been trending on TikTok recently.
Smith expressed his excitement for the song&rsquo;s release, saying, "It's amazing. It&rsquo;s so exciting... [and]&nbsp;It's just the chorus that's out there, so I can't wait for you to hear the song.&nbsp;It's a wild song." He added, "It's a theater show in one song, and I'm so proud of it."

Speaking of the song&rsquo;s vibe, Smith admitted, "It's time for my villain era, I think." The unreleased song has been getting a lot of love even without any promotion.
The pop star expressed his happiness that people like the song, saying, "That's the beauty of music, I'm not in control of that. I make music, write songs, throw them out in the air, and hope that it touches people. " He added, "So I'm very happy when it does."
Smith revealed that the time is finally right for a comeback to the spotlight and the world of music. He explained, "After COVID, everyone's feeling hungry to be around people again and see people, so I'm definitely feeling that."

He also recalls the past three years of his life, saying, "I've had a transitional three years in my life. I turned 30, I think I know what I want to say now, I think I know who I am a bit more, and I'm ready to have fun, "according to <a href="https://www.etonline.com/sam-smith-talks-villain-era-ahead-of-new-song-unholys-release-exclusive-191343">ET</a>.
Smith&rsquo;s upcoming song, "Unholy," is a collaboration with Kim Petras, and will be fully released today, the 22nd of September.
