The 31st entry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, &ldquo;Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania&rdquo;, has been thriving at the box office, despite the atypically lukewarm reception of the first phase 5 movie.
According to the studio estimate &ldquo;Quantumania&rdquo; opened with $104 million in domestic ticket sales and $225 million at the global box office, which surpasses with ease the debuts of the previous 2 "Ant-Man" movies.

on the other hand, the critical reception failed to match the box office success, with the movie sitting on 48% on Rotten Tomato which makes it the only MCU to get a rotten ranking besides &ldquo;Eternals&rdquo;, however, Jonathan Majors&rsquo; performance as Kang the Conqueror was universally praised and got fans excited about the future of the MCU.
Meanwhile, James Cameron&rsquo;s &ldquo;Avatar: The Way of Water&rdquo; remained in second place with $6.4 million in its 10th weekend, and last week&rsquo;s top film, &ldquo;Magic Mike&rsquo;s Last Dance&rdquo; dropped to third place with $5.5 million.
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore:
1) &ldquo;Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,&rdquo; $104 million.
2) &ldquo;Avatar: The Way of Water,&rdquo; $6.1 million.
3) &ldquo;Magic Mike&rsquo;s Last Dance,&rdquo; $5.5 million.
4) &ldquo;Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,&rdquo; $5.3 million.
5) &ldquo;Knock at the Cabin,&rdquo; $3.9 million.
6) &ldquo;80 for Brady,&rdquo; $3.6 million.
7) &ldquo;Titanic,&rdquo; $2.3 million.
8) &ldquo;Marlowe,&rdquo; $1.9 million.
9) &ldquo;Missing,&rdquo; $1.7 million.
10) &ldquo;A Man Called Otto,&rdquo; $1.6 million.
