Celebrated director and newly appointed CEO of DC Studios announced with his co-chair and fellow CEO, Peter Safran, that &ldquo;Superman: Legacy&rdquo; is set to be released on the 11th of July, 2025, with Gunn himself helming the project.
Gunn, who also wrote the script of the movie, has stated that the movie will focus on the early years of the Kryptonian superhero, his aristocratic Kryptonian heritage, and his midwestern upbringing as Clark Kent.

Gunn wrote about the project on Twitter, saying, &ldquo;Yes, I&rsquo;m directing Superman: Legacy to be released on July 11, 2025. My brother Matt told me when he saw the release date he started to cry. I asked him why. He said, &ldquo;Dude, it&rsquo;s Dad&rsquo;s birthday.&rdquo; I hadn&rsquo;t realized.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Superman: Legacy&rdquo; will be the first film in Gunn and Safran iteration of the DC Universe. It will be followed by Matt Reeves&rsquo; &ldquo;The Batman Part II,&rdquo; which is set to be released on the 25th of October, 2025.
