The chaos surrounding the seventh installment of the iconic horror franchise "Scream" continued as the director,&nbsp;Christopher Landon exited the upcoming film.&nbsp;
The "Happy Death Day" &amp; "Freaky" director was announced to be the director of "Scream 7" last August, but since then the production of the movie has been in turmoil after losing two of its major cast members, Melissa Barrera and&nbsp;Jenna Ortega.

Landon took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce that he's stepping down from the director chair of "Scream 7", saying, "I guess now is as good a time as any to announce I formally exited Scream 7 weeks ago. This will disappoint some and delight others. It was a dream job that turned into a nightmare. And my heart did break for everyone involved. Everyone. But it&rsquo;s time to move on&rdquo;.&nbsp;
Last November the troubled sequel lost the lead actress, Melissa Barrera, after the production company fired her over a controversial social media post, after that the movie took another massive blow when Jenna Ortega announced her departure from the movie due to a scheduling conflict with season 2 of the hit series "Wednesday".&nbsp;&nbsp;
