In its first weekend, the highly anticipated film, "Furiosa," the Mad Max prequel starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, topped the box office with $25.6 million,&nbsp;the film also collected an additional $33.3 million at the international box office which makes its total earnings $58.9 million on its first week of release.&nbsp;

Another major release this weekend was the animated family film "The Garfield Movie" which opened with $24.8 million domestically, however, on the international front the movie is doing fairly well, generating&nbsp;$66.3 million overseas.

John Krasinski's "IF" dropped 53% in its second weekend, earning an additional $16.1 million on Sunday and $20.7 million on Monday to reach a $63.3 million domestic total. It has exceeded $100 million globally. Entering its third weekend, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" has brought in an additional $13.4 million through Sunday, making it the fourth best-grossing movie of the year with a global total of $294.8 million.

With $13.4 million over the weekend and an expected $17.1 million through Monday, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" came in fourth. After three weekends of release, the fourth "Apes" franchise has brought in $126 million domestically and $294 million globally.&nbsp;
