<p>The recent hour-long panel for Marvel at San Diego Comic-Con was jam-packed was surprises and announcements that made the fans excited about the future of the MCU.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>The Russo Brothers To Direct "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Avengers: Secret Wars"</strong></span>&nbsp;</p>
<p>After the "Infinity Saga" concluded, Marvel fans were looking forward to the next major event in the MCU, and initially, the plan was for Kang to take the mantel from Thanos and become the next big villain, with "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" being the culmination of his saga in the MCU, however after the conviction of Johnathan Majors who was supposed to portray Kang and all of his variants, Marvel scrapped "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" from the calendar, and announced at Comic-Con panel that the next Avengers movie will be "Avengers: Doomsday" set to be released on May 1, 2026, and it will be followed by&nbsp;"Avengers: Secret Wars"&nbsp;set to be released on May 7, 2027.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Russo brothers, who helmed some of the biggest Marvel movies such as, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", "Captain America: Civil War", "Avengers: Infinity War", and "Avengers: Endgame", will be returning for the upcoming 2 Avengers movies.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Robert Downey Jr Returns As Doctor Doom</strong></span></p>
<p>One of the biggest surprises of Marvel's panel at Comic-Con was the return of&nbsp;Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, but this time not as Tony Stark/Iron Man, as he will play the iconic villain Doctor Doom in "Avengers: Doomsday".&nbsp;</p>
<p>After the death of his character, Tony Stark, in "Avengers: Endgame", Downey was against the idea of reprising the character to maintain his legacy, however recently Downey and Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel's studio, started to tease the return of Downey to the MCU.&nbsp;</p>
<p>It all made sense when it was announced that Downey would be playing a completely different character in the MCU, which is&nbsp;Dr.&nbsp;Victor von Doom, the main villain for "The Fantastic Four" who will appear in the next 2 "Avengers" movies.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The villain of "Captain America: Brave New World" was announced during Marvel's panel at Comic-Con, and he's going to be&nbsp;Sidewinder,&nbsp;the leader of the Serpent Society, and he will be played by&nbsp;Giancarlo Esposito.&nbsp;</p>
<p>"Captain America: Brave New World" is set to be released on the 14th of February, 2025, and Kevin&nbsp;Feige said that it's going to be a bit more lowkey than other Marvel movies, as it will be in the same vein as "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".</p>

<p>"Thunderbolts" was first announced by Marvel in 2021, however, there hasn't been much news about the movie ever since.&nbsp;</p>
<p>At this year's Comic-Con, Marvel screened new footage from the upcoming "Thunderbolts" movie, exclusively for attendees and the audience reaction was overwhelmingly positive.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>"Thunderbolts" is set to be released on the 2nd of May, 2025, and it will be the last movie of phase 5 of the MCU.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>New updates had been shared on the Marvel panel about the highly-anticipated upcoming Fantastic Four movie, such as the title which is going to be "Fantastic Four: The First Steps", also a short teaser was screened for the attendees.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The director of the movie, Matt Shakman, and the cast which includes, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, joined the panel and talked about their preparations for the movie.&nbsp;</p>
