"The Brink of Dreams" was selected to participate in the Feature Documentary Competition, in the highly anticipated seventh edition of El-Gouna Film Festival, taking place from October 24th to November 1st.
The directors of "The Brink of Dreams" Nada Riyadh and&nbsp;Ayman El Amir have recently won the Golden Eye Documentary Prize at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first Egyptian movie to receive this prestigious award.
The film tells the story of a group of girls in a small village in Upper Egypt who form a theater troupe that roams the streets in defiance of the traditions of their conservative environment.

The critically acclaimed documentary participated in a number of prestigious film festivals since its premiere, such as Biarritz Film Festival, &Eacute;tats g&eacute;n&eacute;raux du film documentaire in France, DokuFest in Kosovo, Afrika Film Festival in Germany, and DER NEUE in Austria.&nbsp;
It's worth mentioning that Nada Riyadh and&nbsp;Ayman El Amir's short film "The Trap" had competed at Cannes film festival in 2019. Additionally, their 2016 documentary film "Happily Ever After" participated in The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, the world's largest documentary film festival.
