Greta Gerwig and&nbsp;Noah Baumbach's reps denied the circulating rumors regarding the sequel to "Barbie" being in the early stages of development.&nbsp;
<a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/barbie-sequel-status-greta-grewig-noah-baumbach-warner-bros-1236083434/">The Hollywood Reporter</a> claimed that the sequel to the highly successful film is currently in its &ldquo;early stages,&rdquo; with Gerwig and Baumbach settling on a story that they can discuss with the production company.&nbsp;

However, representatives for both directors have come forward to refute the rumors, saying "There is no legitimacy to this reporting".&nbsp;
It's worth mentioning that "Barbie" was the highest-grossing movie of 2023, generating more than $1.4 B globally.&nbsp;
"Barbie" also won an Academy Award for Best Original Song, for "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish.&nbsp;&nbsp;
