The announcement of the 96th Academy Awards nominations was postponed due to the recent Los Angeles wildfires, according to the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgpgk5pkdno">BBC</a>.&nbsp;
The original date of the nominations announcement was on the 17th of January, however, that date was pushed back to the 19th of January, 2 days after the originally scheduled date.&nbsp;
Furthermore, the voting for the nearly 10,000 Academy members, has also been extended by two days, until Tuesday 14 January.
This isn't the only event that got postponed due to the wildfires, the Critics Choice Awards which was scheduled to take place on the 12th of January had also been delayed according to a statement released on the official Instagram of the annual award show, which said, "The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony has been postponed from January 12th to January 26th due to the catastrophic fires ravaging Southern California".&nbsp;
It's worth mentioning that the Oscars ceremony will be hosted by Conan O'Brien, and it will take place at the Dolby Theater on Hollywood Boulevard on 2 March.&nbsp;
