The film follows Alex Rose (played by Sofia Carson), a young woman whose life takes a sharp turn after the death of her mother. Though Alex had once been a passionate teacher, she gave up her career to work alongside her mother in the family business. As it turns out, she was always her mom&rsquo;s favorite. But after a heartbreaking battle with cancer, her mother passes&mdash;leaving behind a surprise that turns Alex&rsquo;s world upside down.
You're probably thinking, "Sounds like a typical drama," but here&rsquo;s the twist: in her will, Alex&rsquo;s mother doesn&rsquo;t leave her anything tangible&mdash;no money, no business, no letter. Instead, she leaves her daughter with &ldquo;The Life List&rdquo;&mdash;a set of dreams Alex once wrote down as a child. Among them: perform stand-up comedy, become a great teacher, get a tattoo, learn how to drive, and find true love.
So begins Alex&rsquo;s reluctant, chaotic, and heartwarming journey of ticking off each item on the list.
