<p>Following the whirlwind events of Season 4, our favorite fashion-forward expat, Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins), is back for a fifth season, and this time she&rsquo;s trading croissants for cappuccinos. That&rsquo;s right&mdash;Emily&rsquo;s next chapter will unfold not only in Paris but in Rome.</p>
<p><strong>A Quick Recap: Where We Left Off</strong></p>
<p>Season 4 wrapped up with Emily stepping into new territory&mdash;personally and professionally. She&rsquo;s now spearheading the Rome branch of Agence Grateau, settling into an Italian apartment, and getting closer to her newest romantic interest, Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini). Meanwhile, Gabriel is hot on her heels, having finally decided to fight for her, but it may be too late.</p>
<p>Also making big moves: Mindy is headed to Shanghai, Camille is preparing for motherhood on her own terms, and Alfie is presumably nursing yet another broken heart.</p>
<p><strong>Production Is Officially Underway</strong></p>
<p>It had been confirmed that filming for Season 5 begun in Rome. A first look from set shows Emily embracing Italian glam&mdash;&rsquo;70s-inspired patterns, big sunglasses, and of course, a Vespa. So far, scenes have been spotted at some iconic Roman landmarks, including the Fendi flagship.</p>

<p>Creator Darren Star made it clear: while Paris will always be a part of the show&rsquo;s DNA, Rome is now a major backdrop. In his words, Emily will &ldquo;have a presence&rdquo; in the Eternal City. Lily Collins herself announced the renewal back in September 2024 with a cheeky cappuccino cameo, confirming that a new era for Emily had officially begun.</p>

<p><strong>Cast Updates: One Out, One In</strong></p>
<p>While the core ensemble is mostly returning&mdash;Collins, Ashley Park (Mindy), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie)&mdash;fans will notice a major absence. Camille Razat, who played Camille, announced her exit in April. She described the decision as bittersweet but necessary, sharing that she&rsquo;s launching her own production company and wrapping up work on two upcoming shows.</p>
<p>Her character&rsquo;s storyline has reached a natural conclusion, according to Razat, though she didn&rsquo;t rule out the possibility of a future cameo. For now, Camille bows out with grace.</p>
<p>On the other hand, newcomer Eugenio Franceschini, playing the suave Marcello, appears to be stepping into a leading man role. Whether he&rsquo;s just a fling or something more serious remains to be seen.</p>
<p><strong>Plot Expectations: Love Triangles, Again?</strong></p>
<p>Season 5 promises to explore Emily&rsquo;s new relationship with Marcello, who offers a kind of balance she hasn&rsquo;t had before. According to Collins, this new romance gives Emily a chance to be happy without strings attached&mdash;for now.</p>
<p>But don&rsquo;t count Gabriel out. After four seasons of almosts and what-ifs, he&rsquo;s decided to make a move. That decision might come too late, though, as Emily begins carving out a life that doesn&rsquo;t revolve around him.</p>
<p>As always, don&rsquo;t expect things to stay simple for long. Darren Star has hinted at more complications, more fashion, and more moments that will get fans talking&mdash;whether in admiration or outrage.</p>
<p><strong>When Is Season 5 Dropping?</strong></p>
<p>No release date has been set yet, but with production already underway, a mid-to-late 2026 debut seems likely.</p>
<p><strong>Trailer Status</strong></p>
<p>There&rsquo;s no trailer just yet. But if history is any indication, until then, fans can revisit Season 4&rsquo;s drama-filled split release, which dominated the Global Top 10 series when it premiered in August 2024.</p>
