Excitement is building across Egypt as the long-awaited opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum approaches, with preparations stretching from the treasures of King Tutankhamun to the streets of Cairo.
King Tutankhamun&rsquo;s Hall: A Journey into Civilization The King Tutankhamun Hall at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo will remain open to visitors until the 19th of October, 2025, before closing on the 20th of October to complete the transfer of the last artifacts of the Golden King to their new home in the Grand Egyptian Museum. This hall is far more than an archaeological display; it offers a captivating journey into the heart of ancient Egyptian civilization. Spanning 7,000 square meters, the exhibition tells the story of the boy king who lived and died prematurely. Yet his untimely death unveiled one of history&rsquo;s most extraordinary archaeological discoveries, a saga that has fascinated the world for over a century. Today, Tutankhamun&rsquo;s treasures are displayed as never before, featuring 5,398 iconic artifacts, including golden coffins, shrines, rare jewelry, royal garments, weapons, and even chariots that narrate his legacy.

Beyond promotion, major infrastructure upgrades are underway to welcome international guests. Efforts include enhancing accommodations, upgrading roads, and beautifying a 12 km stretch of the Ring Road between Autostrad and the Nile, with improvements such as coordinated building facades, illuminated billboards, greenery, modern lighting, and digital screens celebrating Egypt&rsquo;s heritage.

Confirmed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the museum will formally open to the public on November 4, 2025, after an opening ceremony that will start on the 1st of November and last for three days. As the finishing touches are applied, Egypt prepares to unveil what will be the world&rsquo;s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization, a monumental event set to capture the world&rsquo;s attention.
