<p>Egyptian actor and Cairo International Film Festival president Hussein Fahmy has revealed details of his participation in a new Chinese docudrama, The Story I Found in China, with filming taking place at Beijing&rsquo;s Temple of Heaven.</p>
<p>Fahmy shared images from the set on social media, confirming his involvement in the production, which is being shot across several Chinese cities including Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shenzhen.</p>
<p><strong>A Cross-cultural Narrative</strong></p>
<p>The film follows a docudrama format, blending factual storytelling with dramatized elements. It presents a series of human stories linked through a central narrator, who also takes part in the events depicted.</p>
<p>According to Chinese state broadcaster CGTN, the production combines documentary material with dramatic performance to create a hybrid narrative exploring real-life experiences.</p>
<p><strong>Fahmy&rsquo;s Role</strong></p>
<p>In the film, Fahmy portrays an elderly traveller whose perspective has been shaped by life experience. The character reflects on personal encounters and observations while journeying through China.</p>
<p>Fahmy said the role centres on a figure who shares his thoughts and insights as he moves through different environments, highlighting common human experiences across cultures.</p>
<p><strong>Cultural Collaboration</strong></p>
<p>The project comes amid broader efforts to strengthen cultural and media ties between China and the Arab world.</p>
<p>It also coincides with upcoming diplomatic milestones, including the second Arab&ndash;Chinese Summit and the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China.</p>
<p><strong>Recent Work</strong></p>
<p>Fahmy most recently appeared in the 2025 film Al Mulhid, alongside Ahmed Hatem, Mahmoud Hemida, Tara Emad and Sherine Reda.</p>
<p>The production of The Story I Found in China reflects a growing trend of international collaborations that aim to bridge cultural narratives through cinema.</p>
