A Look Back at Previous ‘True Detective’ Seasons
Since its debut in 2014, ‘True Detective’ has become known for its anthology format, with each season exploring a different investigation, setting and group of characters.

Season 3 was set in the Ozarks and starred Mahershala Ali and Stephen Dorff. The fourth season, ‘Night Country’, followed detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro, played by Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, as they investigated the disappearance of eight men from a research station in Alaska.
The series has received 41 Emmy nominations and won six awards. According to the production company, ‘Night Country’ became the show's most-watched season, attracting 12.7 million cross-platform viewers.
