At the start of her career, Jayda Mansour has already made a strong impression with her authenticity and talent. Born and raised in Alexandria, her passion for acting took root on school stages, where she not only performed but also collaborated with peers to shape plays. What began as a childhood dream quickly grew into a determined pursuit, traveling between Alexandria and Cairo to attend workshops, honing her craft, and refusing to let distance or doubt hold her back.
Her persistence soon paid off. Jayda made her screen debut in Leh La? (Why Not?, Season 3), before landing her breakout leading role in Meen Yesaddaq (Who Believes?), which showcased her ability to carry a series. Since then, she has appeared in the Ramadan hit Athena and is currently filming two new projects: La Torad Wla Tostabdil and Underage.

Beyond acting, Jayda also shares her skills by helping young performers to build confidence and creativity both on stage and in front of the camera.
With NileFM, Jayda takes us behind the scenes to reflect on her journey so far, the lessons she&rsquo;s learned, and the dreams she continues to chase.
You grew up in Alexandria. How did your acting journey begin?
I&rsquo;ve loved acting since I was a child. I started in school theater, and it was a serious stage&mdash;we even wrote our own plays. Being an actress was always my dream. When it came time for university, I was hesitant to move to Cairo because I didn&rsquo;t feel ready. But my passion pushed me. I used to travel back and forth, taking acting workshops in Cairo, then returning to Alexandria.
Today, I also work as an Improv for Teens coach. I enjoy guiding young performers, helping them memorize scenes, gain confidence in front of the camera, and express themselves in ways that suit their age and personality.

Your first role was in 'Leh La?' Season 3. What was that like?
It was a very small role, but it was my first real exposure to everything related to acting. That experience showed me how much I truly love this profession.
Soon after, you landed your first leading role in 'Meen Yesaddaq.' How did you handle that big leap?
Going from just a few scenes to carrying the lead was a huge responsibility. It required a lot of preparation. The director, Zena Abdel Baky, was very happy to open the discussion and collaborate on shaping the character. I worked closely with her on every small detail, even how the character&rsquo;s nails should look, which made the process deeply collaborative and authentic. I also attended the Cairo International Film Festival for the first time, and I couldn&rsquo;t believe I was really living my dream.

You also starred in 'Teta Zozo.' How was that experience?
It was one of the most beautiful experiences I&rsquo;ve had. Most of my scenes were with the incredible Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, and I learned so much from him.

In 'Meen Yesaddaq,' you appeared without makeup in your lead role. Weren&rsquo;t you afraid?
Honestly, I cared more about portraying Nadine&mdash;the character&mdash;than about Jayda. I wanted the audience to connect with her, not me. In real life, I don&rsquo;t obsess over my looks. What matters most to me is being loved for who I am.

The project also brought you together with established stars like Youssef Omar, Sherif Mounir, Ashraf Abdel Baky, and the late Suliman Eid. What was that dynamic like?
Youssef and I had worked together before on 'Leh La?,' so I was excited to collaborate again. We studied scenes together, and he always supported me&mdash;even making sure I was okay after intense moments like our fight scene.
Director Zena Abdel Baky, being close to our age, had a special way of guiding us. Working with legends like Ashraf Abdel Baky, Sherif Mounir, and Arefa Abdul Rasoul was surreal. And I feel so lucky that I got the chance to act alongside the late Suliman Eid&mdash;it was a gift.

Last Ramadan, you appeared in 'Athena.' What did that mean for you?
Every actor dreams of having a role in Ramadan. 'Athena' was a special milestone for me and one of the projects I&rsquo;m proudest of.

What can you tell us about your upcoming projects?
Right now, I&rsquo;m working on two series. 'La Torad Wla Tostabdil,' starring Dina El Sherbiny and Ahmed El Saadany, directed by the amazing Mariam Abou Ouf. Most of my scenes are with Hassan Malek, and I&rsquo;ve learned a lot from this experience. At the same time, I&rsquo;m filming 'Underage,' where I play a pivotal role. Balancing two projects at once has taught me how to separate characters and maintain focus.

If you could choose any actor or actress, past or present, in Egypt or internationally, who would you love to work with?
I always wished I could act alongside the late Khaled Saleh. Among directors, I dream of working with Kamla Abu Zekry and Marwan Hamed.
If you had to sum up your journey in one word, what would it be?
&ldquo;Persistence.&rdquo; Traveling back and forth between Alexandria and Cairo wasn&rsquo;t easy, but my love for acting was stronger than any challenge. I trust the process and truly believe everything happens for a reason.
