<p>With her distinct Egyptian vocals, Haneen El-Shater captivated audiences at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) opening, earning widespread recognition for her remarkable voice. Performing alongside Nubian singer Ahmed Ismail, the duo delivered a soulful rendition of &ldquo;Al-Nil&rdquo; in front of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, First Lady Entissar El-Sisi, international leaders, and a global audience.</p>
<p>By blending Nubian and Egyptian musical traditions, Haneen&rsquo;s performance not only celebrated Egypt&rsquo;s rich cultural heritage but also marked a defining moment in her rising career as a young artist representing the new generation of Egyptian talent.</p>
<p><strong>A Journey to a Historic Stage</strong><br /><strong>NileFM went behind the scenes with Haneen to explore her journey, the rehearsals, and her feelings upon learning she would perform at such a historic event.</strong></p>

<p>Haneen recalls the moment she first learned she would perform at the GEM opening:<br />&ldquo;I was filled with excitement and a big sense of surprise. I told myself I had to be worthy of that trust.&rdquo;</p>
<p>The opportunity came after composer Hisham Nazih and Mr. Mohamed Saady, impressed by her previous work with Mona El Shazly, reached out to invite her.</p>
<p><strong>Rehearsing for Perfection</strong><br />The rehearsals were intense.<br />&ldquo;We had two days with Hisham Nazih in his studio to arrange the pieces, one day with Maestro Nayer Nagui, two days at a hotel with the orchestra, and the remaining days at the museum stage. The hardest part was singing on the museum stage; it&rsquo;s a place with so much history, performing for my country in such a monumental setting.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>The Magic of &ldquo;Al-Nil&rdquo;</strong><br />&ldquo;Al-Nil&rdquo; itself left a strong impression on Haneen.<br />&ldquo;The melody is wonderfully simple and expressive. What impressed me most was how Hisham Nazih conveyed it so naturally while giving me the freedom to add my own touch to the melody.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Performing alongside Ahmed Ismail added another layer of depth to the experience.<br />&ldquo;He is a beautiful, humble singer who represents the authenticity of Nubian culture. &lsquo;Al-Nil&rsquo; became a turning point in the celebration, as it highlighted Egyptian character and captivated the audience.&rdquo;</p>
<p>The fusion of Nubian and Egyptian dialects gave the song a unique richness, which Haneen felt resonated strongly with the audience.</p>

<p>During the performance itself, the President and First Lady&rsquo;s smiles and applause gave her immense confidence.<br />&ldquo;I had sung in front of her before on International Women&rsquo;s Day, so it was a familiar but equally thrilling moment.&rdquo;</p>
<p><strong>Carrying Egypt&rsquo;s Musical Legacy Forward</strong><br />For Haneen, the experience was more than just a performance.<br />&ldquo;It&rsquo;s an honor and a huge responsibility to represent emerging talent to both Egyptian and international audiences. Moments like these remind me why I chose this path and motivate me to keep growing.&rdquo;</p>
