Right before the night kicks off at 10:00 PM on NileFM, this week&rsquo;s DJ of the Week, Joe Aiaad, is gearing up for a major moment in his fast-growing music journey. He started out as an events coordinator and only moved into DJing recently, but his quick rise, sharp taste and effortless connection with the crowd have already made him one of the standout new names in Egypt&rsquo;s electronic scene.
This week, NileFM dives into Joe&rsquo;s story, his sound, and the surprises he has lined up for tonight&rsquo;s set.
Let&rsquo;s start at the very beginning. Who is Joe Aiaad, and where did your journey into DJing truly begin? Joe Aiaad is an events coordinator turned entertainment manager at TLT Concepts. My journey into DJing began behind the scenes in 2022, where I watched and learned. In 2023, I had my first official gig behind the decks.
You&rsquo;ve only been active since early 2023, yet you&rsquo;ve already made your mark. What was the moment when you thought, &ldquo;This is real.. Are things taking off&rdquo;?
 When it was my first time to be behind the decks infront of a crowd who wanted to dance and have fun and I am responsible for keeping their momentum and their energy, and also when I started to study more and explore more about mixing and DJing it is always ( now it is real and things are taking off so I have to focus more).
You&rsquo;re known for Afro House, Afro Tech, Oriental House, and melodic sounds. What is it about these genres that captures you? What attracts me to Afro House, Afro Tech, Oriental House, and melodic genres is their unique ability to merge rhythm, culture, and emotion. Afro-driven music brings organic percussion and energy, while Oriental and melodic influences offer richness and atmosphere. Together, they create a dynamic soundscape that&rsquo;s both powerful and soulful. These genres allow me to express myself in a way that feels authentic and globally connected.

What sets a &ldquo;Joe Aiaad set&rdquo; apart from anyone else on the scene? What sets a &ldquo;Joe Aiaad set&rdquo; apart is the way I blend Afro House, Afro Tech, Oriental House, and melodic elements into a cohesive narrative. My focus is on creating a deep emotional connection with the crowd&mdash;using percussion, harmony, and tension in a way that feels intentional and immersive. I strive for a balance between cultural richness and modern electronic energy, so the audience experiences something unique, memorable, and true to my artistic identity.
 What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far, and how did you push through it?
My biggest challenge is always to keep the connection between the crowd and me on the dance floor, which makes them always happy with the music, so I will hear positive feedback.
 Egypt&rsquo;s music scene is evolving fast. How do you see your place within it, and where do you think you&rsquo;re making the strongest impact? I feel lucky to be part of Egypt&rsquo;s growing music scene. I&rsquo;m trying my best to good position, I just hope the music I play adds something positive. If I&rsquo;m making an impact, it&rsquo;s by staying authentic and bringing my own sounds to people who connect with them, and very soon, it will be more than DJing and mixing.

How does that recognition feel, and what does it mean for you? Being selected as NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week honestly means a lot. I&rsquo;m grateful for the recognition, and it feels encouraging to know that the work I&rsquo;m doing is reaching people. It&rsquo;s not something I take for granted&mdash;if anything, it motivates me to keep improving, stay true to my sound, and continue sharing music that connects with listeners.

And looking ahead, what should fans be excited about: new projects, collaborations, or upcoming events? Some exciting things are coming. I&rsquo;ve been working quietly on new ideas, also exploring new sounds, and there are upcoming events I&rsquo;m really looking forward to. I&rsquo;m just thankful for the support, and I can&rsquo;t wait to share what&rsquo;s next with everyone.
