<p>The Weeknd is getting his first lead role in a full-length movie, he will also take part in writing and producing the upcoming project!</p>
<p>The untitled film will be directed by Trey Edward Shults, best known for the 2019 drama &ldquo;Waves&rdquo;, starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Taylor Russell, Sterling K. Browand, Alexa Demie, and Lucas Hedges. Shults also directed the 2017 indie-horror movie &ldquo;It Comes at Night,&rdquo; starring Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, and Riley Keough.</p>

<p>Shults also co-wrote the upcoming untitled movie and is executive producing it.</p>
<p>The new project has a very ambitious cast beyond the Grammy-winning artist The Weeknd, as it also stars Jenna Ortega, the breakout star from the hit TV show "Wednesday&rdquo;, and Barry Keoghan, the Oscar-nominated actor for his role in the Irish drama &ldquo;The Banshees of Inisherin&rdquo;.</p>
