&ldquo;White Noise,&rdquo; a black comedy directed by Noah Baumbach, stars Greta Gerwig, Adam Driver, Jodie Turner-Smith, Don Cheadle, Raffey Cassidy, and Lars Edinger.
&nbsp;&ldquo;White Noise&rdquo; will open at Venice Film Festival on Aug. 31st, and it is the first time a streaming service original project opens the festival.

The movie is an adaptation by the American novelist, Don DeLillo, and it follows Jack (played by Adam Driver) who teaches at a liberal arts college in America. With his fourth wife , Babette (played by Greta Gerwig), they attempt to get over some family issues, but their lives are interrupted when an &ldquo;airborne toxic event&rdquo; forces them to face their death.

It is expected that &ldquo;White Noise&rdquo; will meet a lot of success because of the reputation Baumbach has built as a director, as well as the huge cast of A-list actors.
Baumbach has been going from one success to another which earned him the title of an &ldquo;auteur.&rdquo; His success varied from the family drama &ldquo;The Meyerowitz Stories,&rdquo; starring Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller, to the groundbreaking drama &ldquo;Marriage Story&rdquo; starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson which was met with massive success. He also directed and wrote &ldquo;Frances Ha.&rdquo;

&ldquo;It is a great honor to open the 79th Venice Film Festival with &lsquo;White Noise,'&rdquo; said Venice director Alberto Barbera in a statement.
Baumbach said, &ldquo;it is a truly wonderful thing to return to the Venice Film Festival, and an incredible honor to have &lsquo;White Noise&rsquo; play as the opening night film.&rdquo; He added, &ldquo;this is a place that loves cinema so much, and it&rsquo;s a thrill and a privilege to join the amazing films and filmmakers that have premiered here.&rdquo;
