The Egyptian Ministry of Culture successfully registered "the arts and skills associated with engraving on metals...copper, silver, and gold" on the representative lists of intangible cultural heritage at UNESCO through collaboration with ten other Arab countries. This increased the number of Egyptian elements registered on the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists" to eight.
This was said during the Intergovernmental Committee of the organization's eighteenth session, which is now in the Republic of Botswana.
The accomplishment may be attributed to the collaborative efforts of eleven Arab nations, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Yemen, and Mauritania. This was stated by Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture. The preparation of the nomination file took two years, with the Arab Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) serving as the coordinator.&nbsp;
The eighth element of the "elements of intangible cultural heritage" has been added to the UNESCO Representative List, and the Minister of Culture has congratulated all Egyptians on this accomplishment. She also expressed her gratitude to Dr. Nahla Imam and the staff of the Egyptian Heritage House for their helpful work in registering the eighth element.
In her speech at the Intergovernmental Committee for the Intangible Heritage meeting, Egypt indicated that intangible cultural heritage is a space of understanding between peoples in a world where conflicts are becoming more and more prevalent. The Minister of Culture emphasized that the message of this joint file is one of mutual respect and peace between people.
