Daytime temperatures are expected to continue rising across much of Egypt on Thursday, 8 January, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has said.
Light to moderate rainfall is forecast during the evening over parts of the north-western coast and the northern Nile Delta, accompanied by low-level cloud cover. The EMA warns that in some areas the rain could become heavier later at night, with the possibility of thunderstorms.
Occasional light drizzle may also affect northern Egypt, extending at times to Greater Cairo and the Canal cities, although significant disruption is unlikely.
Meanwhile, active winds are expected across the north-western coast, Greater Cairo, the Delta and the Canal cities. In exposed areas, these winds could lift dust and sand, briefly reducing visibility.
