Egypt is expected to see a slight and temporary drop in temperatures across most parts of the country on Tuesday, 3 February, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
Daytime conditions will be generally mild nationwide, although Upper Egypt is forecast to remain warm. Temperatures will fall sharply at night, with very cold conditions expected across all regions.
Strong winds, reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour, will affect much of the country. The EMA has warned that the winds could raise sand and dust, particularly in Sinai, the Red Sea governorate and southern Egypt, reducing visibility on some roads.
Hanging dust is also expected during the morning hours over Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta and Canal cities.
Light to occasionally moderate rainfall is forecast for the northern coastal areas and the northern Nile Delta, with showers expected at intervals throughout the day. There is also a weak chance, around 20%, of light rain over parts of Greater Cairo and the southern Nile Delta.
