The US dollar continued to fall against the Egyptian pound on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, after several days of steady gains, according to the National Bank of Egypt (NBE).
The dollar dropped to EGP 52.59, down from EGP 53.12 in the previous session, marking a decline of EGP 0.53 and a modest strengthening of the local currency.
The change comes amid muted trading activity in the foreign exchange market, as traders continue to monitor economic developments and shifts in demand for foreign currency. Whilst the decline provides some support for the pound, it remains unclear whether this signals the start of a sustained downward trend or simply a temporary correction.
