Egypt is set to see a continued drop in temperatures across the country, with Cairo recording 26&deg;C.
Conditions will range from moderate to hot during the day, while northern areas are expected to be milder. Temperatures will fall at night, bringing cooler conditions, according to a statement issued on Monday, 27 April 2026, by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
There is a chance of moderate rainfall in parts of the northeastern coastal governorates, North and Central Sinai, and northern Lower Egypt. Rain may at times become heavy and thundery, with a probability of around 20% in some areas.
Light to moderate rain is also expected in parts of the northwestern coast and southern Lower Egypt. This could extend to the Suez Canal cities, Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, also with a probability of about 20% at intervals.
Winds of 30 to 45 km/h are forecast across much of the country. These may stir up sand and dust in parts of northern and southern Upper Egypt, the Red Sea governorate and Sinai, potentially reducing visibility.
The EMA has also warned of possible hazards linked to thunderstorms, including strong winds caused by downdrafts beneath storm clouds and the risk of lightning strikes.&nbsp;
