The US dollar edged higher against the Egyptian pound on Tuesday, extending a recent period of relative stability, according to the National Bank of Egypt (NBE).
The dollar was recorded at EGP 52.69, compared with EGP 52.53 in the previous session.
The British pound strengthened slightly, reaching EGP 71.14 for buying and EGP 71.48 for selling.
Meanwhile, the euro showed mixed movement, rising to EGP 61.57 for buying and EGP 61.90 for selling.
The Chinese yuan also recorded a minor increase, reaching EGP 7.70 for buying and EGP 7.73 for selling.
Regional currencies saw slight changes. The UAE dirham rose to EGP 14.33 for buying, while remaining stable at EGP 14.37 for selling, reflecting demand linked to travel and economic ties with Gulf countries.
Overall, the Egyptian pound showed limited fluctuations during the session, as authorities continue efforts to balance import demand with inflows from tourism and investment.
