Egypt is set to experience a peak in temperatures across the country on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, with Cairo expected to record 39&deg;C, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
Very hot conditions are forecast during the daytime in most parts of the country, while the northern coast is expected to remain relatively milder. Temperatures are set to become more moderate overnight across many areas.
Winds ranging between 30 and 40km/h are also expected in parts of Cairo, the Nile Delta, the North Coast, South Sinai and Upper Egypt. The EMA warned that the winds could stir up sand and dust in some areas, occasionally reducing visibility.
There is also a slight chance of low cloud cover forming over scattered parts of northern Egypt, Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities, which may bring light drizzle in isolated areas.
