Egypt is set to experience a rise in temperatures across the country, with Cairo expected to record a high of 39&deg;C on Thursday, 14 May 2026. Daytime conditions will be very hot across most regions, while the northwestern coasts are expected to see hot weather. Temperatures are forecast to become moderate overnight, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
Winds ranging between 30 and 40 km/h are expected across parts of the northern coast, the Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, the Western Desert, northern Upper Egypt, and southern Sinai. The conditions may lead to sand and dust being stirred up in some areas.
The EMA also said there is a slight chance of low cloud formation over scattered areas extending from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities, with the possibility of light drizzle in isolated locations.
Authorities advised residents to take precautions during the hot weather, including drinking plenty of fluids, especially water, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight during peak daytime hours, and wearing loose-fitting cotton clothing to help stay cool.
