The US dollar is trading at EGP 51.79 for buying and EGP 51.89 for selling, according to the latest data from the National Bank of Egypt (NBE).
The figures, released on Sunday, come amid ongoing volatility for the Egyptian pound as it adjusts against major global and regional currencies.
Other major currencies also saw shifts on Sunday. The British pound is trading at EGP 69.04 (buying) and EGP 69.96 (selling), while the euro stands at EGP 59.65 for buying and EGP 60.42 for selling. Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan is priced at EGP 7.64 to buy and EGP 7.66 to sell.
In the Gulf, the UAE dirham is trading at EGP 14.08 for buying and EGP 14.12 for selling.
Currency fluctuations remain a key focus for local businesses and consumers alike. A weaker pound directly drives up the cost of imported goods, putting further pressure on inflation and everyday living expenses.
