The US dollar is trading at EGP 50.28 for buying and EGP 50.38 for selling, according to the latest exchange rate data released by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) on Tuesday, 16 June.
This comes as the Egyptian pound continues to experience fluctuations against major global and regional currencies amid shifting market conditions.
Among other major international currencies, the British pound was recorded at EGP 67.32 for buying and EGP 67.62 for selling, while the euro stood at EGP 58.19 for buying and EGP 58.41 for selling. Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan traded at EGP 7.43 for buying and EGP 7.45 for selling.
Within the Gulf markets, the UAE dirham was trading at EGP 13.67 for buying and EGP 13.71 for selling.
These ongoing exchange rate movements remain under close scrutiny by businesses, investors and consumers alike, as fluctuations in the local currency have a direct impact on import costs, inflation and household spending across the country.
