The US dollar is trading at EGP 49.90 for buying and EGP 50 for selling, according to the latest figures released by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) on Sunday, 21 June 2026. The Egyptian pound continues to fluctuate against major global and regional currencies amid changing market conditions.
Amongst other major currencies, the British pound is trading at EGP 65.68 for buying and EGP 66.2 for selling, whilst the euro stands at EGP 56.97 for buying and EGP 57.4 for selling. Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan is trading at EGP 7.37 for buying and EGP 7.39 for selling.
In the Gulf region, the UAE dirham remains relatively stable at EGP 13.57 for buying and EGP 13.61 for selling.
Exchange rate movements are closely monitored by businesses, investors, and consumers, as fluctuations in the value of the Egyptian pound can influence import costs, investment decisions, and broader economic activity across the country.
