In celebration of Egypt&rsquo;s literary icon, the Ministry of Culture has inaugurated the &lsquo;Mahfouz in Our Hearts&rsquo; initiative today, April 16. As part of this tribute, the Naguib Mahfouz Museum in Cairo's Al-Azhar district is offering free entry to the public, inviting visitors to delve into the life and legacy of the Nobel Laureate.​
The initiative, titled &lsquo;Mahfouz in Our Hearts: Pride for Egyptian Identity&rsquo;, aims to honor Mahfouz's enduring influence on Egyptian culture and literature. Beyond the museum's open doors, the day features a national literary competition and various cultural activities designed to engage the community and celebrate Mahfouz's contributions to Arabic literature.​
The Naguib Mahfouz Museum, housed in the historic Muhammad Bek Abul-Dahab Complex, showcases a comprehensive collection of Mahfouz's personal belongings, manuscripts, and awards, offering a profound insight into his life and work.​
This initiative is part of a broader cultural program by the Ministry of Culture to spotlight the works of prominent Egyptian artists and intellectuals, reaffirming their impact on the nation's cultural heritage.
