After a four-year break since her album Solar Power, Lorde is back with a new work. Her fourth studio album, titled Virgin, will be released on 27th June. It includes 11 tracks, featuring the haunting single &ldquo;What Was That,&rdquo; which has already been released.
Although many details about the album are still secret, Lorde has shared some clues about its style and themes. She describes Virgin as &ldquo;100% written in blood&rdquo; and says its color is &ldquo;clear&mdash;like bathwater, windows, ice, spit.&rdquo; She aims for the music to be &ldquo;plain and unsentimental.&rdquo;

In a note to her fans, she wrote:&nbsp;
&ldquo;I was trying to make a document that reflected my femininity: raw, innocent, elegant, openhearted, spiritual&rdquo;
For this album, Lorde worked with the well-known producer Jim-E Stack, She also worked with Daniel Nigro, a Grammy-winning producer famous for his work with Olivia Rodrigo.
This album shows a change from the sunny vibe of Solar Power. Lorde hints at deeper emotions and a more vulnerable approach. She shared, &ldquo;There&rsquo;s nowhere to hide. I&rsquo;m proud and scared of this album. I believe that putting the deepest parts of ourselves into music is what sets us free.&rdquo;
With albums like Pure Heroine and Melodrama, Virgin is likely to be her boldest and honest work so far.
