Cairo is preparing to welcome the return of one of its most anticipated cultural events, as the Fustat Winter Festival resumes this year with a programme blending heritage, entertainment, and music. The festival opens next Friday, 14 November, at Fustat Hills Park under the slogan &ldquo;Fustat is Back,&rdquo; with a headline performance from renowned composer Omar Khairat.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has reviewed final preparations and praised the initiative, noting that it aligns with a core objective of the Fustat Hills project: establishing the park as a leading recreational and tourism hub in the heart of Cairo, overlooking some of the city&rsquo;s most significant historical sites.
Khaled Sedik, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund, said the Fustat Hills project is designed to revitalize Cairo&rsquo;s urban landscape by adding nearly 500 acres of green space in Old Cairo. The park, among the largest of its kind in the Middle East, hosts experiences that showcase Egyptian heritage across different eras, alongside cultural, recreational, and commercial activities, open-air theatres, archaeological zones, heritage gardens, and hotel facilities.

Sedik added that this year&rsquo;s festival draws inspiration from the New Alamein City Festival held during the summer and is expected to attract large audiences.
Running from 14 November to 5 December, the Fustat Winter Festival will feature performances by some of Egypt&rsquo;s most prominent artists. Following the opening night with Omar Khairat, the line-up includes Amaal Maher, Tamer Ashour, Ahmed Saad, and Marwan Moussa, marking a vibrant revival of Fustat&rsquo;s cultural celebrations.
