Egypt is set for colder, unsettled weather on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, as the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a noticeable fall in temperatures across most regions. Conditions will turn mild during the day, and drop again to cold by night, with intermittent winds adding to the chill. Widespread rainfall is expected, with moderate showers, occasionally heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, forecast for several northern governorates, including Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said, Gharbia, Monufia, Sharqia and the Canal Cities. In parts of Sinai, rain may intensify, raising the risk of flash flooding.
Light to moderate rain is also anticipated at intervals in Greater Cairo, the Gulf of Suez, northern Upper Egypt, and parts of Matrouh. Wind activity is likely to persist throughout the day in many areas.
Maritime conditions will remain unstable. The Mediterranean coast, from Matrouh and Alamein through Alexandria and Beheira to Damietta, Port Said and Arish, is expected to face significant disruption, with winds of 40&ndash;50 km/h and wave heights of 2&ndash;3 meters.
The EMA adds that thunderclouds could produce hail, strong downdraft winds, and lightning, with around a 40% probability of occurrence.
