Egypt is set to experience a rise in temperatures across the country on Thursday, 4 June 2026, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA). The weather will be extremely hot during the daytime across most areas, while the North Coast will experience hot conditions. At night, temperatures are expected to become moderate to mild nationwide.
High humidity levels will increase the perceived temperature by approximately 1 to 2 degrees Celsius above the actual temperature recorded in the shade.
There is a chance of light rainfall over parts of the northwestern coastal governorates and the Western Desert. The rainfall may become moderate and thundery at times, with a 20% chance of occurrence in some areas of the New Valley Governorate.
Wind activity is also expected at intervals across most regions, with speeds ranging between 30 and 35 km/h. In some areas of the Red Sea Governorate, winds may stir up sand and dust.
The EMA also forecasts the formation of low clouds over scattered areas of southern Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt. These clouds may produce light drizzle in some locations.
Thunderstorms, with a probability of around 20%, may be accompanied by strong downdraft winds in certain areas. There is also a possibility of lightning strikes in some locations.
