Egypt is set to experience warm to hot weather during the day in the north of the country, extending to Greater Cairo, and hot conditions in southern Egypt, while temperatures are expected to drop to cool or cold levels at night on Monday, October 26, 2026, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
There is a 40% chance of light to moderate rainfall, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms, across parts of Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate, Upper Egypt, the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba, and cities along the Suez Canal. Rainfall may become heavy at times, potentially leading to flash floods in parts of central Sinai, including Halayeb, Shalateen, Ras Banas, Marsa Alam, and Quseir, as well as parts of the southern Eastern Desert.
Meanwhile, there is a 30% chance of light rain in scattered areas along the North Coast and across the Nile Delta, potentially extending to parts of Greater Cairo. Rainfall may become moderate at times in areas between Salloum and Marsa Matrouh.
Winds are expected to become active at times, reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h along parts of the northwestern coast. Dust and sandstorms are also possible intermittently in areas between Salloum and Marsa Matrouh.
The EMA has also warned of potential hazards associated with thunderstorms, including strong winds caused by downdrafts and lightning strikes in some areas.
