<p>Psychological acting Coach, writer, and actor, Mel Masry was NileFM's guest On "The Big Drive" with Zeinab and Sami and he shared with us all about&nbsp;his journey in the performing arts industry, his passion for storytelling, and his experiences as a writer and actor.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Can you tell us a little about about yourself?</strong></p>
<p>I'm Mel Masry, a coach, actor, and writer. I live in the UK, but I want to explore more of the world.</p>
<p>I have a passion for writing, but I also enjoy all forms of storytelling.</p>
<p><strong>When did you know that you wanted to be an actor?</strong></p>
<p>It started at a young age when I was modeling&mdash;I enjoyed being in front of the camera.</p>
<p>I found it fascinating to express myself in front of the camera. Over time, I took various acting workshops.</p>
<p>After finishing my studies, I decided to pursue a master&rsquo;s degree in theatre. After that, I thought,&nbsp;"Okay, I&rsquo;ve studied theatre; why not evolve and understand how it works on screen?"&nbsp;This decision stemmed from my great passion for cinema.</p>
<p><strong>You also write, when did that come about or was it always in parallel with acting?</strong></p>
<p>I started writing at a young age but stopped during my teenage years. Later, I became interested in documentaries and romantic comedies.</p>
<p>When I started watching those films, I was fascinated by themes of romance, relationships, and exploring what love is about. At the time, I was in a relationship and wanted to document it. That&rsquo;s when I began writing again.</p>
<p>After the relationship ended, I continued to write, focusing on why relationships succeed or fail. I even started interviewing random couples.</p>
<p>For nine years, I documented relationships, comparing them across generations.</p>
<p>The first thing I wrote was a book, which I ended up publishing. It was well-received.</p>
<p>Moving on to writing scripts, I was fascinated with turning what I learned into a script, and I was finding it quite difficult, so I decided to do something else, a story that was easier for me.</p>

<p><strong>What inspired you to write "Shadows of Stardom"?</strong></p>
<p>The story is based on my experiences, but its message extends to everyone. It&rsquo;s not just about people in the performing arts industry; it&rsquo;s about anyone who feels unable to say,&nbsp;"I&rsquo;m having a hard time."</p>
<p><strong>Why is it important for an actor to take workshops?</strong></p>
<p>Taking workshops is like going to the gym. It helps an actor evolve, experiment, and develop new techniques.</p>
<p>Even professional actors take workshops. Some people might think they don&rsquo;t need them, but you do, because your brain is a muscle that needs consistent training.</p>
<p><strong>You&rsquo;ve attended many festivals abroad, how are they beneficial for an actor?</strong></p>
<p>Festivals are great for networking with others in the industry, whether you&rsquo;re a writer or an actor.</p>
<p>I recommend choosing the right festivals if you&rsquo;re serious about networking and climbing the ladder in this industry.</p>
<p><strong>What are we to expect from you in the future?</strong></p>
<p>As you can see I'm here, I'm trying to expand in the Middle East.&nbsp;</p>
<p>My workshops are available to anyone interested. I&rsquo;m here to help and offer tools to help you work professionally and pursue what you love.&nbsp;</p>
