Ahmed ElGendy won Egypt's first gold medal at Paris 2024 Olympics, in men's Modern Pentathlon with a world record 1,555 points.&nbsp;
ElGendy, silver medallist in Tokyo three years ago, had already set in the semi-finals an Olympic record of 1,516 points before surpassing his own record in the final.

Following Sara Samir's silver medal in weightlifting earlier in the day, and Mohamed Elsayed's bronze medal in fencing, this is Egypt's first gold medal in the Paris Olympics and third overall.&nbsp;
It's worth mentioning that Japan's Taishu Sato took the silver and Italy's Giorgio Malan the bronze&nbsp;in men's Modern Pentathlon.&nbsp;
